Thunder and lighting, insane happenings...
Dow falling below 11k
Fannie and Freddie going (gone?) bye bye
$150 oil, maybe $200 soon
We left the car keys to Bernanke?
Markets look to the future. What they see aignt good. Could they be seeing an Obama presidency? Lets not kid ourselves either, they could be seeing a McCain presidency. Throwing Phil Gramm under the bus wasnt very polite, or smart.

By Alberta
Some of you may know that I am no fan of Pat Buchanan. I think the guy hates Jews, to be blunt about it. But besides my little bias, which may or may not be true (hey I dont personally know him, he may in fact love Jews), his policy positions are, I find, a little backwards, and by that I mean isolationist. Which is fine, this is America and all that.
Pat recently released a book, the crux of it being about Churchill being a terrible leader, who cost Britain her overseas empire (all in a stupidly juvenile attempt to SAVE THE FREE WORLD).

By Alberta
So now that Time Magazine (I feel dirty giving them the caps), hack no talent writer Tim McGuirk, and the living joke that is Rep Murtha have been totally and completly discredited, whats the American thing to do?? Sue! Sue! Sue!
Honestly, America is the greatest country on earth. Would any other country spend money to investigate, on behalf of Iraqis, their own military men with such rabid zeal? The government, according to Lt Col Chessanis (an officer they tried to tar and feather as a murderer) lawyer, had assigned 65(!) agents to investigate him and his squad. These intrepid truth seekers, all 65, found that Chessani and his men did absolutely nothing wrong. Anybody familiar with the details of this case should be thinking is 'Really? It took 65 of them?'

Not being American, I feel there may be some things that happen in your political process that I dont grasp the nuances of. For instance...the Democratic Party.
To be more specific, this nomination process they have. To my understanding, the reason they have super delegates and prop. rep. is to make it hard for the base of the party to nominate someone who is unelectable. I mean which is cute, I guess, but is kinda chilling to me. If you constantly protect the base from making dumb choices, they will continue to make dumb choices. If you let them have more Mcgoverns, maybe they would learn. But alas, thats another topic.

I don't know how to be fancy with the linkage, but if you take a gander at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23472518/?GT1=43001 you will find the single most absurd story of (and I'd really like to put ever here, but alas, we live in a mad mad world) the last hour. People hate black dogs because they are, in fact, black.
Wow. I mean just sip the sillyness in. The first thing I hope you would notice is the complete and utter lack of anything even resembling science in the argument put forward by the 'we-think-perspective-dog-owners-are-black-dog-hating' people. If I handed in a paper with no, I don't know, CORRESPONDING EVIDENCE RELATING TO THE ARGUMENT I AM TRYING TO MAKE I would instantly fail.

Posted at 1:05am on Dec. 1, 2007 Fiscal Conservatism should be more important re:nomination
By Alberta
Yo
Lets be real here. People care more about the stack in their wallet then whether or not the person they are voting happens to believe in the same god as they do.
The GOP should be focused on fiscal restraint. A candidate who is not for limited government should not win the candidacy. As I see it, fixing Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, and reforming the tax system (I myself advocate a flat tax) would set the nation on the right course fiscally and would, by cutting expenditures, allow us to continue to pursue the WOT while at the same time cutting the amount of taxes people pay.

By Alberta
I live in Canada. I have a friend who goes to school in Arizona. He tells me the price for weed in America is about double what it is in Alberta.
So the free market capitalist in me is thinking, hmmm, if I go and sell weed in America, I will make a tonne of money.
Now Im no libertarian, I dont think people should be allowed to go get high because they feel like it. Drugs are a corruption, which is why places infested with them are also poor.

There is a site on the internet that lets you send soldiers in the IDF a pizza. Its at http://pizzaidf.org/
I have friends in the IDF, and they love this.
I was wondering if there are similar services available for the troops in Iraq/Afghanistan, and if there isnt, what can a person do to maybe set one up? If anyone has any information regarding this, please share.

Just read Pats latest on Human events (http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=23352). (sorry if dont work)
I was wondering what the feeling was at Redstate as to Pats position. His last couple of articles have been basically the same, he's an isolationist, dammit!
Personally I am for the American government overthrowing every gangster regime in the world, one of those crazies Pat calls a neocon.

By Alberta
The short and sweet. I dont think that having a country elect its politicians through a democratic system is a good idea in most of the world. I think that if you allowed many of the countries in the middle east to vote you would end up with countries ran by islamic militants.
I think the goal of the WOT should be to bring the billions of people in the world who are currently living in the dark ages out of it. If this requires a dictator, so be it.
