Posted at 4:58pm on Feb. 4, 2008 And We Wonder Why the Paultards React That Way... [Updated again]

By GOP84

“It’s a tough war we’re in. It’s not going to be over right away. There’s going to be other wars. I’m sorry to tell you, there’s going to be other wars. We will never surrender but there will be other wars.”

-John McCain

I never thought I could see justification for the paranoia that fuels Paultards but I think I'm beginning to see it now. I didn't expect McCain to be so blunt about it. It seems that he really intends to lead us into future wars. He doesn't say why. He doesn't say how. He just says that it's inevitable.

Posted at 12:22am on Feb. 3, 2008 So I Just Got Back from a Huckabee Rally

By GOP84

I know a lot of you may be gasping at the thought of me, a Romney supporter attending a rally for an opponent of my candidate, but what can I say? He came to my town, to the university I attended and he's a GOP presidential candidate. So why not?

I got to the rally about an hour early. At that point, Governor Huckabee hadn't even arrived yet but many of his campaign staff and several supporters had. I noticed that some of the same people that supported Huckabee had a few "Roy Moore 2006" Signs in the back of their trucks.

Posted at 2:05pm on Feb. 1, 2008 Romney Picks Up New Endorsements

By GOP84

I'm sure you've all heard about Sean Hannity.

But now you can add Laura Ingraham, Rick Santorum, Lynn Westmoreland, and the Arkansas Republican Assembly.

Posted at 11:40am on Feb. 1, 2008 Because I'm a Conservative

By GOP84

My fellow Republicans, I believe we have reached one of the most divided times in our history. The President of our great country is a member of our party and generally, I feel that he has done a good job. For instance, in the face of 9/11, he stood firm and led us through one of the most difficult times in our nation's history. He has appointed excellent conservative judges to the Supreme Court, which we hope will lead to more constitutional rulings in the highest court of our country.

Posted at 10:00am on Jan. 31, 2008 Is It Just Me Or....

By GOP84

Is it just me or has John McCain forgotten how to debate the issues? It seems like lately his current strategy in the debates is to either a) attack Romney, b) enumerate his endorsements or c) use typical Democratic rhetoric.

Of course last night, as usual, he attacked Romney like a rabid dog for something that has no basis in fact, which literally sounds like something a rabid dog would actually do....

Posted at 12:52pm on Jan. 30, 2008 Is This Really What You Want?

By GOP84

To say that I was dismayed about the results of last night would be an understatement. John McCain lost among conservatives and evangelicals and still yet managed to prevail the victor in Florida. McCain was high among the independent/moderate/liberal/secular spectrum of the GOP, as he has been in virtually every contest thus far. He even won among pro-abortion Republicans last night.

Posted at 5:59pm on Jan. 23, 2008 McCain the Flip-Flopper

By GOP84

I've always thought it was strange that McCain gets a free pass on his flip-flopping, while Mitt Romney gets raked over the coals for his change in positions. What should be good for the goose should be good gander, but it seems that somehow McCain is above reproach when it comes to deviating from a previously held position.

It boggles my mind how McCain can vote against the Bush tax cuts, claim that he was right to do so, and then scream from the rooftops that they need to be made permanent. Well John, we wouldn't have them in the first place if it was up to you.

Posted at 11:40am on Jan. 22, 2008 The Sunset of Fred's Campaign

By GOP84

I've tried to be as nice as possible about this, but it's time for us to realize that for all intents and purposes, Fred D. Thompson is no longer a major player in this race.

I have tremendous respect for Senator Thompson. And had he been the nominee, he would have been a fantastic president, a president I would have fought for tooth and nail in the general election. But it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Posted at 3:10pm on Jan. 20, 2008 Message to Fredheads

By GOP84

First of all, I consider you my friends, my allies, my compatriots. If recent events had played out differently, I would have gladly taken up arms with you and championed the cause of our candidate Fred Thompson.

I realize that many other bots and supporters of candidates are hovering over you like vultures over carrion, and I do not necessarily intend to be one of them. I believe your cause was worthy, valid, and indeed admirable.

Posted at 3:56pm on Jan. 14, 2008 Who's the Mudslinger Now?

By GOP84

I always thought it was ironic that Romney was painted by the McCain campaign as the most negative of candidates. After all, Romney's ads are the probably the nicest among any of the the "attack" ads I've ever seen. Typically, negative ads don't refer to the victim as an "honorable man."

And to say that Huckabee is all positive is equally disingenous because of the statements he has made against Romney. But to me, it's plain to see the John McCain hates Mitt Romney. The latest of attacks on Romney, coupled with his snide and childish antics at the debate a week ago seem to reveal a more cutthroat side of McCain.
