Posted at 11:42pm on Feb. 6, 2008 Let's not become the Libertarian Party

By rudy08

I'm not Bruce Bartlett's biggest fan, but he did nail the LP pretty well in a 2006 article (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2006/12/libertarian_or_liberta...):

"Over the years, I have known a great many people who have flirted with the Libertarian Party, but were ultimately turned off by its political impotence and immaturity. C-SPAN runs Libertarian conventions, and viewers can see for themselves how unserious and childish they are. They show that the Libertarian Party is essentially a high-school-level debating club where only one question is ever debated -- who is the purest libertarian, and what is the purest libertarian position?"

Posted at 2:15am on Jan. 8, 2008 Ron Paul has called MLK a "gay paedophile"

By rudy08

Got this from the comments on a New Republic blog (about Wookies supporting Ron Paul):

The New Republic is set to publish on Friday an damaging expose on Congressman Ron Paul (R), portraying him as a virulent racist and anti-Semite. Appearing on Tucker Carlson's show on MSNBC on Monday evening, TNR reported Jamie Kirchick detailed a litany of allegations against Paul. Kirchick said most of his information came from articles published over the past 20 years in the subscription-based Ron Paul Survival Report newsletter. Kirchick said he will detail a two decade history of newsletter articles filled with "racist, anti-semitic, homophobic invective." Further, Kirchick alleged Paul has openly referred to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a "gay pedophile" and was once a featured speaker at a Confederate "pro-secessionist conference." In a statement published on Paul's campaign website on Monday evening, Paul wrote that he expects "the attacks and even smears [on me] will increase as we do better."

Posted at 1:51pm on Dec. 15, 2007 Has Huckabee lied about his theology degree?

By rudy08

This is not the most trustworthy news source, but I do remember the Huckster saying he was the only guy on the stage with a theology degree.

He is, apparently, a seminary dropout instead. Check this out:

Posted at 3:37pm on Nov. 20, 2007 Mike Huckabee, Nanny Statist

By rudy08

And this is what Huckabee is going to enforce with our taxes:

I'm getting more and more convinced that a Huckabee presidency will feel a lot like Bill Clinton redivivus. Perhaps that's why Clinton the Elder likes him so much - the similarities are amazing.

“I think it should be a matter of choice for the individual wh

Posted at 9:17pm on Nov. 18, 2007 Regarding the "running out of energy" hysteria

By rudy08

I keep reading all kinds of crazy leftists blogs about how oil represents energy stored over billions of years, how we'll soon run out of this energy and will have to return to riding horses and heating our houses with fire (if we don't all die first, of course); about how the US is eating up a huge portion of the world's energy budget, and we need to tone down our consumption so others can get some as well.

Posted at 3:39pm on Nov. 16, 2007 Glenn Beck gets it right about the domestic threat

By rudy08

I'm not a big fan of Glenn Beck and I don't pay attention to his shows anymore, since he started criticing the President. But on this one occasion I have to admit he got some stuff right. He also has David Horowitz as a guest, and I've always liked Horowitz a lot. They discuss how the leftists and peacenik types are potential recruits for homegrown terrorism, the duties of the military related to this, and the significance of Ron Paul using British terrorist Guy Fawkes as a campaign symbol. Lots of good stuff, check it out:

Posted at 8:37pm on Oct. 31, 2007 Ever wondered where all the Ronulan posts came from? Here is the answer.

By rudy08

Fox News has just uncovered a criminal botnet operation sending out Ron Paul spam from "servers in Asia, Africa, South America and Europe". Since these things are notoriously hard to detect, this has to be just the first glimpse of the top of the iceberg.

Being an IT professional myself, it is easy to see now how the moRON-in-chief "won" all those online polls. All computers in a botnet have individual IP addresses - and thus the illusion is created of "widespread online support".
