I didn't get a chance to snap a picture of it, and I'm sure they will be gone by the time I get out of work tonight, but while I was at lunch today I saw two people holding a giant Obama sign at a busy intersection here in my city. Now, on the surface, and to the casual observer, there is nothing wrong with this. However, you have to be a native of this city to understand why I found it hilarious...

Preface: This is a repost of the article I posted earlier. I misunderstood the time frame for RP articles, but Moe was nice enough to say I could repost it.

This started out as a reply to a blog by WildBill, but got a little long and veered a bit off-topic, so I decided to make it a new topic.

To Wild Bill, and Other Ron Paul Fans:

If you're going to shill for Paul here, you need to at least point out those things that people at this site (Republicans, Conservatives) care about. You're not going to make any friends here by arguing against the war or for national health care. Instead, here are a few topics you might try:

First of all, to get a few things out in the open, so there is no confusion.

1) I believe that the United States has enemies across the world, that would like nothing better than to see us destroyed.

2) I believe many of these enemies have no moral objection to targeting innocent civilians.

3) I believe that we must defend ourselves from these enemies.

I say this because I know that my next statement may have people up in arms, and I want them to hear me out rather than dismiss me out of hand.

I am a very analytical, selfish person. I like cold hard facts and irrefutable, quantifiable data. When choosing a candidate, I consider what is important to my family, my country, and the American people, in that order. To form my opinion on who to vote for in 2008, I took those things that were important to me, ranked their importance, ranked the candidates according to how they supported those items, and received my results. I have to assume that there are a fair number of other people who use the same system.
