or, okay, so I watch American Idol. However, during last night's airing, I had the pleasure of finally seeing this commercial for the Marines.

Many of you may remember San Francisco denying the Marines filming a clip for a recruiting advertisement from a while back: http://www.redstate.com/stories/culture/san_francisco_to_marines_drop_de...

I am relatively new to the blogosphere and stumbled across Redstate in my attempts to learn more about our presidential candidates. It has been an anchor in my search for information that the MSM will not broadcast and hosts laureates that can cut through the mire and produce intelligent, thoughtful discussion, minus the name calling found on various other liberal sites. Perhaps most importantly, I like the feel and layout of the site. It is organized, very user friendly and highly navigable. Most other sites appear to have been “whipped” together by some techno bots with little attention to presentation.

Posted at 1:33pm on Jan. 10, 2008 Why I won't vote for a Sunni Republican, er, Huckabee
By stephenm
I stumbled across this article http://www.arkansasnews.com/archive/2008/01/09/DavidJSanders/344761.html and a few others concerning Huckabee's unification of the Republican party, or should I say lack thereof.
"In 2001, when conservative Republican lawmakers opposed a higher sales taxes and fees the governor supported, he began calling them "Shiites." Huckabee's positions on fiscal policy became indistinguishable from Democrats' positions. A year later, he openly campaigned against a ballot initiative to remove the sales tax on food and medicine. While he and Rockefeller won re-election in 2002, Sen. Tim Hutchinson didn't."
