By Michael Handley

It seems that as each generation comes of age they are filled with what they think are new ideas about what our government is doing wrong and what they should be doing differently. And some up and comming new politician says the right buzz words they are naive enough to believe so they vote for him no matter how shallow the words are . Once in awhile this politician with all these "new ideas" gets elected.

By Michael Handley

Have you not seen this before? Do you not read history? I have lived long enough to see the rise and fall of both the Democrat and the Republican Partys. Both have been left for dead too many times to count but both keep comming back. Why you ask? Well it's pretty simple. It has everything to do with the quality of the individuals who are the leaders. Sometimes lesser quality people who have a great story to sell but not much else fool enough of the voters and they get elected.

Posted at 2:49am on Mar. 17, 2008 We May Be Headed For Real Trouble.

By Michael Handley

If Obama becomes the Democrats candidate in the General Election, are we headed for a real race war if he isn't elected? Even though there are many good reasons not to vote for him, a lot of folks will say it just proves that America is a racist nation. Some of those folks will be so mad they will become violent and ignite. I sure don't want to be near any large city on election night if he loses.....

I belong to Red State and for the most part I like the way you think. Too bad I don't see the same thing in the main stream media. If the Conservative cause is to grow and prosper our thoughts have to become the talk of the MSM. The question is how can that happen? At present the MSM is in the liberal if not far liberal camp. The only large news provider that is even a little close to fair is Fox News and at times they seem to be slipping. After much thought I am convinced that we need a network forum. We have to get some large organizations such as Readers Digest, the NRA, NASCAR etc... to invest in the idea of buying either ABC, NBC or CBS. Having one of those networks broadcasting an alternative to the liberal thought process would go far toward waking up the the voters. Look at what happened when Fox launched their "Fair and Balanced" operation. It quickly became a economic success and is still climbing the charts.

By Michael Handley

For a long time I have been asking myself what is wrong with our society? Why has it become so violent? Why are our leaders continually passing inefective laws that even the average person realizes won't work? Well I have come to the conclusion that we don't hold each other responsible for our actions. We are a benevolent society so we are quick to give other folks the benefit of the doubt when they screw up.

Posted at 4:02am on Feb. 16, 2008 Campus Safety

By Michael Handley

This is for those of you who are attending college. The college you attend is a reflection of the surrounding community. Does the community have a crime problem? Do you feel safe walking the streets of your community after dark or even during the day? Do you think that because you are on the college campus and they have rules banning weapons from the campus that you are in a crime free zone? Well my friends,if you do not have a closed campus where security controls access, you are at risk. The number one priority of your administration has to be keeping you safe. All other concerns are secondary. If they can't keep you alive and keep your own money in your own pockets they can't sustain a learning environment. Look at what happens on the campuses where disaster has struck. Security is immediately beefed up, ID's are checked, strange people are questioned and watched. You should be asking, Why wasn't this being done all along? If you are on a campus where the security is non-existent of extremely lax, where the officers don't look like the can handle a violent situation, where personal security seems to be an afterthought, you need to do something right now. Your student unions need to go before the Board of Trustees and demand improvement. You also need to have emergency phones on campus to report unusual or dangerous activity and stepped up patrols by armed security officers.

Posted at 3:24am on Feb. 12, 2008 McCain supports the 2nd Amendment.

By Michael Handley

I spent a considerable time at the National Shot Show in Las Vegas this past week and came away with a new found liking for John McCain. In talking with many industry leaders and show attendees I found strong support for Senator McCain due to his strong stand on individual gun owners rights. In checking his record I find their support is well grounded. If you believe in the Second Amendment then you should give consideration to him as a possible choice.

Posted at 5:57am on Feb. 1, 2008 The Race of the Second Tier Candidates.

By Michael Handley

In my mind the race for the White House was over when Fred Thompson dropped out. I believe that he would have been the best thing that has happened to our Country since Reagan and I still don't think any of the remaining Republican candidates can win it. You folks have been arguing over the pros and cons of the rest of the uninspiring group with some well thought out blogs but you are missing the main issue.

By Michael Handley

Is it just me or did anyone else notice that the total votes cast in the Florida Primary are just about the same amount for the Republicans and the Dempocrats. I remember the last time around we had to wait for weeks because of hanging chads etc. This couldn't happen again...Could it?

Posted at 8:01pm on Jan. 22, 2008 Ok. You Can Panic Now...

By Michael Handley

Fred Thompson just announced that he is dropping out of the race for President. The Party is now officially in the hands of folks who don't have the credentials to claim the mantle of conservatism. The Republican Party is splintered so badly that it is not possible for them to maintain control of the White House. Hillary Clinton will be your next President. The only silver lining to all this is that no single person can destroy the Country.
