I just saw in Forbes that 10 of the 20 richest US counties (www.forbes.com/forbeslife) are suburbs of Washington D.C., including the top three richest. That's out of the whole country. There are a lot of counties in this country. Is there anyone else who is blown away by this?
Do we need any more evidence that we need to get the money out of Washington. When people retire from politics it seems they are usually wealthy at levels that the straight income would not support.

What a great new day for democracy! When they used to say that anyone could grow up to be the president of the United States, we all knew that what they really meant was anyone—who worked hard enough to be qualified to be the leader of the free world—could be president of the United States. That all changes now. The 2008 presidential election will go down in history as the beginning of the brave new world of American politics.
