Now, I'll admit I'm a simplistic guy who thinks the simplest solutions are often the most effective. That's why I support a national flat sales tax over any combination of income and sales taxes by state (and a bureaucracy the size of Delaware to manage it). We're now getting the ball rolling on the primary season, and I wonder: Why the heck should you or I care about what New Hampshire thinks? Or South Carolina, or Georgia, or Florida? If I support a candidate, shouldn't I have the guts to vote for him even if my primary is in May (which it is)?

When I think about the elections in November, I really wonder what the next four years will look like. Some of you have great insight into the plans and policies of the candidates on both sides, and a lot of us might benefit from at least some forward-thinking. I have a feeling a LOT of people (in the general public) are planning their votes based on immediate impressions - who they "like" best, or who is the most stage-savvy, or something else that has nothing to do with whether they will be a good leader for us as a country.
