Posted at 2:37pm on Jun. 19, 2008 Secure a Website and an Obama Victory

By ZootSuit

A friend sent mine sent me this link for a job securing Obama's website. I thought some of you might get a kick out of it.

Then again, it doesn't say you have to be a supporter. If anyone needs a job, Obama is hiring. Apply now because if he wins the election, a lot of peple will be looking for a job and not many industries and indi

Posted at 11:16pm on Jun. 14, 2008 Black conservatives conflicted on Obama campaign

By ZootSuit

Here's an article I found about Black conservatives supporting and not supporting Barack Obama. And while I cannot support Obama because I think he is a Marxist and thus, not the best candidate for the country, I do understand and even sympathize with the dilemma.

I also must add that, considering some of the support expressed on this site for JC Watts as McCain's VP choice, I find his comments especially interesting. I personally still hold JC Watts in the highest regards -- and as I write above, I very much sympathize with his dilemma even if I may disagree with his resolution -- but I am curious about the feedback from others on RedState.

Posted at 10:57pm on Jun. 14, 2008 McCain gets it!

By ZootSuit

I thought I would create a separate blog for this instead of adding it to one of the Boumediene et. al. v. Bush threads that wer already started because I thought this good news deserves it's own blog.

McCain get's it!

To quote the Republican nominee:

The United States Supreme Court rendered a decision yesterday that I think is one of the worst decisions in history.

Posted at 9:49am on Jun. 4, 2008 Does Obama's nomination prove that America has come a long way?

By ZootSuit

I am about to get on a plane to travel back to the United States but this morning I read Pejman Yousefzadeh's post and cwilson's reply about whether or not Obama's nomination has shown that America has come a long way in race relations. Yousefzadeh seems to say that it does and cwilson disagreed, saying it did not.

Personally, I am very much in agreement with Pejman Yousefzadeh on this one. Despite my disagreements with Barack Obama -- and again, as far as I can recall, I am the first person to publicly call Obama a Marxist on RedState -- I think his candidacy does prove that America has come a very long way. Even twenty years ago, the thought of many that a Black person being the Presidential nominee of a major party of the United States of America was laughable (see Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson). Now, it is so.

Posted at 9:42pm on May 31, 2008 Okay, I'm enthused about Republicans again

By ZootSuit

This is just a brief note and nothing really to comment upon. It is just something I felt I must write. Others have come to the conclusion that I have and written about them much better than me.

I am on a well-deserved holiday -- and trust me, it is very well-deserved -- vacationing and celebrating my anniversary. But during this time off, I am also catching up on a bit of television. Unfortunately, one of the things I decided to watch is the HBO film, Recount.

Posted at 12:38pm on Apr. 22, 2008 Bill Cosby: Black nationalist and Black conservative

By ZootSuit

I hesitated to post this because I still do not have the time to adequately respond and elaborate upon it. Besides, I know it is controversial.

However, I have not forgotten my promise to write a blog here on the relationship between Black conservatism and Black nationalism. I still plan to do so but, presently, I still do not have the time available necessary to give the subject a good treatment, even if it will only be an introduction to the subject.

Posted at 11:05am on Mar. 24, 2008 A "non-ideological" rebuke to Obama's "race" speech

By ZootSuit

First of all, my apologies in that I am very busy at the moment (professional/personal issues) and cannot engage in an active discussion and dialogue with my fellow members at RedState. Indeed, unfortunately I cannot respond to the coments that I hope this post will generate. But I thought Jason Whitlock's column was so good that I wanted to share it with you.

Posted at 12:12am on Mar. 7, 2008 McCain's 5 VP finalist (and my very long list including also-rans)

By ZootSuit

I wrote this earlier today on an otherwise boring airplane trip before I heard that McCain has narrowed his VP selection down to five finalist read Quin Hillyer's top five choices. [note: when I reread the article I found it was only Quin Hillyer's personal list and it is a very good list] The five finalist [according to Quin], are listed here. Put aside from this paragraph, here is my unedited list of VP candidates for McCain, along with my very brief thoughts on them.

Posted at 11:55am on Feb. 10, 2008 What Republican is more electable than John McCain?

By ZootSuit

This is in response to the smattering of posts popping up were people are arguing that if we can get a brokered convention, conservatives can pick a more electable Republican candidate than John McCain. Personally, I think that idea is lunacy and I really want to know, given the abundant evidence to the contrary, who that "more electable" Republican is.

Face facts people, no matter what his problems may be, McCain is the only electable Republican this year!

Posted at 10:34am on Feb. 1, 2008 I guess I somewhat support McCain now

By ZootSuit

In this Republican primary, to me it came down to two choices:

1) Someone who I do not like (for things like McCain/Feingold, McCain/Kennedy, etc.) but who I trust to be who he is

2) Someone who ran a fairly competent but left-of-center administration (and campaigned even further left-of-center when he ran for the Senate against Kennedy) but who now says he is a "full-spectrum" conservative and all
