By Red Wing
Just a quick note to Eric, and RS's at large,
Just wanted you to know I tried to contact my Senator regarding the Dodd issue, she is the infamous Dem. Barbara Boxer, and guess what, her message machine box was full?
I just couldn't help but think what a crazy deal that is in an era of digital recorders, and given the import of the office she holds?
I mean is a person in the office to talk to, or to jot down the messages left and reset the analog recorder to much to ask?

I was having a rather... well spirited conversation with a liberal recently.
And he was pasting up graph's from so called "fact checker" sites, you know these sites that are really liberal propagandists, but cloak themselves as something else?
I wonder why Conservative sites are unabashedly open about their agenda's, but for some reason these lefty's seem to have the need to hide their real intentions?

...abandoning His "Campaign" For The POTUS...
In a speech tonight he will make the announcement.
It is never too late, I guess?
He will take the 4.7 million left in his bank account to fund some org that will further libertarian minded Republican candidates.
(Though someone could of tapped Huck on the shoulder and had a talk with him...)
I just saw this , a Mises Institute Fellow forwarded me an email.

Why did the chicken cross the road?
BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because; uh...a)it was time for a change, Uh... b) though I was never present for the actual crossings - Uh... Check that I was present, but I strongly took exception with every step, Uh... c) because chickens, Uh... unlike some folks, are not clinging to one side of the road or the other, Uh... d) my wife is feeling good, Uh... for the first time in her adult lifetime, about these crossings, and Uh... e) it's not just chickens, Uh... we will find a way Uh... to pay for all those who wish to cross, to in fact cross, Uh... but basically it all boils down to, Uh... chickens want change!

Posted at 2:44pm on Mar. 30, 2008 MediCare Drug Plan?
By Red Wing
I hope this is not too short, or formatted incorrectly, but please bear with me if it is.
I am trying to get a handle on the last Medicare drug plan that was passed.
I'm here in Phoenix for spring training with a friend who I have been easing over to our way of thinking. In the stands the other day he threw this up as an example of Republican entitlement spending?
I don't understand the issue, as I wasn't really following it then, and I don't find the bottom line on it from a conservative perspective anywhere on the net in a quick search of Google.

By Red Wing
You know, when Barack Obama first announced he would run for POTUS, I thought the same things a lot of you thought, he was probably too inexperienced - let him ripen in the Senate for a full term at least, or two then we'll talk. At least before I waste much time trying to figure him out. I wondered if the democrats, or we as a country would unify behind a black candidate, and I remembered Colin Powell and how I was excited to learn more about his potential POTUS run years earlier, and so I thought why not.

Posted at 11:56pm on Mar. 8, 2008 Ex-House Speaker Dennis Hastert's Seat Has Gone Away.....And It's No Wonder....Here's Why....
By Red Wing
Well it's happened, and quite frankly I can't believe it has. Even now that its a done deal, it just won't sink in.
We lost a slam dunk, a 20 year long uncontested seat in congress, it happened via a special election for the Ex-House Speaker from Illinois, Dennis Hastert's seat.
Jim Oberweis is the Republican candidate, in a largely Republican 14th district, who fell victim to the otherwise unimaginable, a loss to Political Newbie Democrat Bill Foster.

By Red Wing
I have no problem standing fast on the three core imperatives I was brought up on in the conservative archetype of the GOP.
1) I believe in Capitalism, and feel disgust for any system of dependence based ideology.
2) I feel that government should be restrained, and limited in part to maintaining a strong national defense.
3) I subscribe to the conviction that Americas traditional social aphorisms are indispensable.

Posted at 12:44pm on Feb. 29, 2008 Where Have All The Conservatives Gone?
By Red Wing
While telling my oldest Son about William F. Buckley recently, he asked a revealing question. "Dad", he said after watching some film of Mr. Buckley, "where have all the conservatives gone"?
I can see him now, sitting valiantly, with his notepad and indomitable grin. His adversary, another self righteous liberal, fool hearty enough to query the master. Ensconced in their seat, with an ill feeling in the pit of their stomach having been resigned to the inevitable sounding of the opening bell.
