Posted at 6:58pm on Jul. 11, 2008 Anyone here heard of Jamie Gorelick?!!
By Pentagon16
For us older guys, we remember that some woman under the Clinton regime at one time headed the Department of Justice in some kind of job, and she defended Bill during the Lewinsky "escapade."
Then, several years later all of a sudden, who do we see but Jamie Gorelick being appointed by the libs to the 9/11 Commission.
Strangely enough, it turns out that Ms. Gorelick was one of the key architects of the FBI policy whereby intelligence agencies were not able to share certain information on possible Islamic terrorists during the 1990s. Oh yeah, and this stopped the CIA and FBI and counter terror units from discussing Mohammed Atta and the other 18 hijackers.

By Pentagon16
It is amazing as a historian to see the exact same forces of 150 years ago resurface today.
Does THIS sound like anyone we know?!!
"After four years of failure...by the experience of war... we demand that immediate efforts be made for a cessation of hostilities.. with a view to an ultimate convention or other peaceable means to the end that peace may be restored on the basis of the Federal Union"

2) High-Tech Combat Equipment Expedited for Use in Iraq
By Donna Borak Associated Press Friday, June 27, 2008; D04
WASHINGTON -- The Army will deliver some key technologies to ground forces in war zones three years ahead of schedule as part of its $160 billion combat modernization program led by Boeing and SAIC. Senior Army officials said Thursday that changes to the Future Combat Systems program will expedite the use of high-tech equipment, including unmanned sensors and robotics, to infantry brigades fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan by 2011. Portions of the program were expected to be used by armored units by 2014, but Army officials say the technology is needed for the current war effort.Lt. Gen. Michael A. Vane, director of the Army Capabilities Integration Center, said accelerating FCS and other complementary programs will help fill in gaps created by huge demands on the infantry brigades while increasing the effectiveness and safety of U.S. soldiers. Lead contractors Boeing and SAIC said the Army's decision to accelerate the combat system technologies shows confidence in the program's progress. FCS includes 14 manned and unmanned systems linked through a secure communications network. On Wednesday, Army Chief of Staff Gen. George W. Casey Jr. briefed Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates on plans to restructure the program. Gates, who backed the shift, told reporters at a briefing Thursday that FCS "deserves support."Dan Goure, a defense analyst at the Lexington Institute, said it appears that the Army "didn't want to repeat the same mistake" as the Air Force, which battled Gates publicly over F-22 jets made by Lockheed Martin. Gates had previously raised doubts about FCS."Clearly, this shows that Gates is in command in a way few secretaries have been of the services," Goure said. A few lawmakers lauded the Army's decision. But House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton, D-Mo., and Hawaii Democrat Neil Abercrombie, chairman of the air and land subcommittee, expressed concern that the new plan "may not allow for adequate testing of the equipment due to its very tight schedule."

Posted at 8:50pm on Jun. 22, 2008 What do we owe our beloved Union?
By Pentagon16
As a historian one can find both warning and solace from the past. I am now reading the Pulitzer Prize winning novel "Battle Cry of Freedom" by James McPherson.
When describing the rationale of those who fought for the North, it is an incredible thing to actually contemplate. In our world of 2008, can anyone honestly imagine that 145 years ago 2.2 million men would enter the service to fight a 4 year war with 760,000 KILLED IN ACTION- just to save the Union?!!

Posted at 9:18pm on Jun. 20, 2008 No GOP 527 organizations?!!!
By Pentagon16
Jon Martin at Politico reported today there have been ZERO Republican 527s set up and there are not really any plans to set any of them up.
If this is really the case, I fear that we are pretty much doomed at this point. No way will McCain be able to win without a 527 highlighting Obama's nefarious connections, something we know the McCain campaign both will not want to do or be able to afford to do.

Posted at 11:42am on Jun. 14, 2008 Malik Obama: Barack was raised a Muslim
By Pentagon16
The important point is here is not necessarily that Obama is a Manchurian Candidate. If anything he is a commie candidate. But that he has consistently lied about his family background for whatever reasons. On Israel Army Radio his half brother stated that Barack would be good to Israel even with his "muslim background from Kenya"..

Posted at 9:43am on Jun. 13, 2008 Congress: Black GOP Candidate in Georgia 13
By Pentagon16
Even though I live in Maryland, I have been donating to Dr. Deborah Honeycutt running for Congress against David Scott in a district outside Atlanta.
She has raised nearly 2 million dollars this year, which seems pretty impressive.
Anyone know about this race? It would be crucial to have someone like her represent the GOP in the Congress. We at Redstate should do everything we can to help her.

By Pentagon16
So I have been reading Len Deighton's "Blood, Tears and Folly."
Does this sound like someone we know? p. 144
"Chamberlain was concerned with his personal popularity and he spoke of it frequently. The welcoming crowds he saw on his visits to Rome and Munich were reassuring to him.
He even remarked that Mussolini did not seem jealous at being welcomed less warmly than Chamberlain and the British party.

Posted at 1:25pm on Jun. 7, 2008 Good Ad linking Rezko and Obama
By Pentagon16
I don't know why the RNC is not linking their ads as they come out to sites like this one. If no one sees what they are producing it really won't matter will it?!
They should have a person who simply goes and posts up their ads on every right and moderate blog in the country.. How hard would that be?!
