Posted at 10:16pm on May 16, 2008 Reality Check

By rgregm

I've read the many posts here at RS by those who are fed up and disgusted with our Republican nominee and the posts by those who would like the aforementioned posters to just shut up. I sympathize with both parties, but it's time for a reality check. We conservatives are by nature patient and optimistic; so much so that come November we will cast our ballot for John McCain and work for our party to recommit to conservative principles and give us leaders we can be energized about in future elections. We are patient enough to endure any bump, either perceived or real, in the conservative road and optimistic enough to know the majority of Americans are not foolish enough to willingly destroy, surrender or relinquish any of the precious freedoms so many men have fought and died to secure by electing a Marxist like Obama to the Presidency.

Posted at 2:38pm on Apr. 24, 2008 Obama Associate Has Ties to Hamas

By rgregm

The list of Barack Obama's associates just keeps getting more and more interesting. Apparently one of his own fundraisers listed on his website has ties to Hamas. The story from Patrick Poole of FrontPage Magazine below.
---------------------------------------------------------
Two years ago, Hatem El-Hady was the chairman of the Toledo, Ohio-based Islamic charity, Kindhearts, which was closed by the US government in February 2006 for terrorist fundraising and all its assets frozen. Today, El-Hady has redirected his fundraising efforts for his newest cause - Barack Obama for President.

Posted at 9:28am on Apr. 23, 2008 I'm voting for McCain because he's white.

By rgregm

Now that I got your attention...
Obama is getting 90%+ of the black vote. Is there really any doubt that he gets this much support among blacks because he is black rather than blacks agree with him on policy? I don't think so. If I, a white man, were to support a white candidate based solely on his race I would be called a racist-and rightfully so. Why is this double standard going virtually unchallenged in the MSM?

Posted at 8:13am on Apr. 23, 2008 For the sake of Racial Unity and Empowerment to Women Don't Elect Either Dem.

By rgregm

As an American I look forward to the day when we finally elect an African-American or a woman as President of the United States. But I am looking for more than a token gesture of racial and gender equality. I look forward to the day when a candidate is considered based solely on credentials, accomplishments and policy positions, when a candidate is not seen as a 'black' candidate or a 'woman' candidate, but simply as a candidate for President. Period. It is for that reason we must not send Barack Obama or Hilary Clinton to the White House. Either of these two would be a disaster for this country. We can ill afford the first black or first woman to hold that office to be such a failure. The first candidate to break through the racial or gender barrier must be exceptional in order to insure that all future prospects get a fair shot. I am afraid if Obama is elected President his failure will set back the civil rights movement 40 years. The same goes for Clinton and the women's rights movement. Each of these Dems weakness on national security and the economy, coupled with a filibuster proof Democratically controlled house and senate, will spell disaster for this country. It may be the last time, or at least for a long time, a black or a woman is seriously considered for the office.

Posted at 7:52am on Apr. 23, 2008 There's no way Obama gets the Nomination.

By rgregm

No matter how the remaining primaries go the Democrat nomination will be decided by the Super Delegates. That's a fact. With a solid Pennsylvania victory the argument gets stronger for the Supers to back Hilary. She has won all the 'Big' prizes that will be needed in November compared to Obama's collection of many small states. If the Democrat Party rules were different, akin to the Republican 'winner take all' rules, the candidates' position would be exactly opposite with Hilary holding a slight delegate lead over Obama. If you consider the Electoral Votes each state awards in the General Election-and Clinton's victories in the big states of California, NY, Pa, Oh, Tx, NJ,MI,Fl-the argument for Clinton gets stronger. Barack can't win the states with the most electoral votes. The argument for the Supers to back Hilary is compelling.

By rgregm

The Four Noble Truths:
1. Capitalism is evil; Marxism is good.
2. America is evil; America's enemies are good.
3. It's OK to be a racist as long as you are a minority.
4. If a Liberal suffers it is because of oppressive Conservatives; If a Conservative suffers it is Karma.

The Noble Eightfold Path:
1. Raise taxes; especially on the rich.
2. Increase Government power and control over the private sector.

Posted at 7:55am on Apr. 22, 2008 Why Hilary Has the Power

By rgregm

No matter what happens in Pennsylvania today Obama will maintain his lead in pledged delegates and remain the frontrunner for the Democrat nomination. But the race will go on and the Democrat Party will continue to divide and fight amongst themselves, at least until June 3 when the final primary is held and possibly until Denver. With Obama as the presumptive, and eventual, nominee it is clear that it is Hilary who holds the power not Obama. Let me explain.

Posted at 8:19am on Apr. 17, 2008 In Politics, Timing is Everything

By rgregm

Isn't it amazing how important timing is in today's political arena? If the recent controversies surrounding B. Hussein Obama had come to light just three months ago he would undoubtedly not be the frontrunner and quite possibly no longer in the race. But, to his advantage, he gained national popularity and almost cult-like status before anyone really knew much about him. He managed to pocket several primary states and a hefty delegate count while still virtually unknown to a majority of the electorate. The more we get to know Barack the man the more we dislike him. Blame the left-wing propaganda machine known as the Mainstream Media for being complicit in concealing this man's true nature, character and views from the populace just long enough to secure him with a mathematically insurmountable delegate lead.

Posted at 8:51am on Apr. 16, 2008 The Insanity of Green

By rgregm

Imagine yourself an average American in 1850's America. While perusing a book store you come across a science fiction novel set in a technologically advanced society at the turn of the 21st century. A nation 300 million citizens strong has for decades been the world's largest supplier of food, but because of recent paranoia of an impending global apocalypse (the science of which has been thoroughly repudiated by some of the world's leading scientists) this nation has implemented policies that would force farmers to grow food, not for consumption, but for destruction; to provide an alternative fuel source to the fossil fuels that have powered the world and driven the global economy for nearly a century. The farmers are paid handsomely, not to grow food, by the government through oppressive taxation on its citizens at precisely a time when the economy is in recession. As a result of this policy, food prices have skyrocketed and food shortages are rampant worldwide, exacerbating the troubles of an already struggling economy.
