By John Wayne

One of the mysteries to me is how the Democrats get away with the grave harm their policies cause others. This posting is primarily about the Democrat's energy policies that have caused worldwide energy and food costs to soar. Here is a link to an article about the effects this is having around the world:

Posted at 3:29pm on May 28, 2008 Maybe McCain could learn a thing or two from Vaclav Klaus on global warming!

By John Wayne

McCain's belief in global warming and his intent to institute a CO2 cap and trade system in this country is the issue that prevents me from fully supporting his candidacy. I could enthusiastically support McCain were it not for this one issue! In the spirit of McCain's invitation of Obama to join him in Iraq, I implore McCain to sit down with Vaclav Klaus (and maybe some other intelligent people not on the global warming bandwagon) to get a different point of view that is backed up with truth, not skewed statistics. Widespread belief in global warming, in my opinion, is the single biggest threat to our liberty, economic security, and standard of living. I believe if it is not debunked once and for all (and soon!) that we will have a government that will make the old Soviet Union look like a paradise.

Posted at 10:08am on May 23, 2008 Evidence of Obama's Marxist Connections

By John Wayne

There have been many times I’ve heard that Obama is a Marxist. I have never had much doubt about it, but in this article, evidence is brought out that really connects the dots.

I know most Conservatives (as evidenced here at RS) don't need to be convinced. I wonder how this will play in the MSM, or whether it will get any attention at all! Liberal Democrats will most likely find this a great attribute, but this may be the issue that sways the opinion of those who aren't so far left, and leads to his defeat. It will be interesting to see if more evidence comes out.

Posted at 7:14pm on May 20, 2008 Hand that man a beer

By John Wayne

Why can't our young military members age 18 to less than 21 not enjoy a drink legally (in most circumstances)? I know there are more important things to worry about, but this is one thing that has bothered me for a long time. I served in the Air Force from 1978 to 1988 (enlisted at age 17). When I first went in, this was not an issue. The drinking age in most states was mostly 18, and I never had trouble getting a beer on base even when I was 17. In the mid '80s, someone started listening a bit to closely to MADD. In 1985, Federal law (United States Code, Title 10, Section 2683) and DOD Instruction 10.15.10 set forth very arbitrary and somewhat confusing rules concerning the legal drinking age of military members.

Posted at 7:05pm on May 19, 2008 My thoughts on 'truth'

By John Wayne

I confess that I am not classically educated, nor have I studied much philosophy in my life (aside from Christianity). I have come to the conclusion that most conservatives have their strong beliefs because they have, for some reason, a real desire to know truth. I don't know if it is genetic, or the way we are raised, but conservatives love the truth.

I think this is why we conservatives get so upset when one of our own in the political sphere deceives us and proves to be other that what he presented himself to be. We love truth and take personal offense to being lied to. Liberals do not seem to share our love of truth. Neither they nor we are disappointed when an elected Liberal politician or celebrity is caught lying. No one expects anything better from Liberals, including Liberals themselves. That is why most conservatives were livid about Clinton's lies under oath, and why those in his own party didn't see what the big deal was. We hold our leaders accountable to our standards, and they have no standards to hold their leader accountable to. It is so much easier to be a Liberal Democrat!

Posted at 12:09pm on May 17, 2008 The global warming issue and alternative energy that make sense

By John Wayne

I am a skeptic of man made global warming to say the least. Although I am not a scientist, I do have a good understanding of the complexities of the Earth's climate. There are cycles in nature like solar output, the shape of the Earth's orbit, and our solar system's location relative to the galactic plane that have far more impact on the Earth's temperature than 380 PPM CO2 in the atmosphere. We do, however, need to find alternatives to oil for motor fuels for the sake of our economy and national security. What ever we use has got to make sense and be practical. For example, I am not a fan of corn based ethanol at all. It is too expensive, requires government subsidies to compete, has cause world-wide food shortages, made the price of other food staples skyrocket, and uses far too many resources to produce. It is the kind of impractical solution we get from knee-jerk liberals and some in our own party who want to make sure they get re-elected by giving corn farmers and ethanol producers taxpayer funded subsidies. We need practical solutions!

Posted at 1:26am on May 16, 2008 Well, thanks for giving me a chance and not blamming me!

By John Wayne

Looks like my blog entries were deleted by the powers that be. I guess this will be my last posting. I came here to discuss ideas and conserns. I met a few folks I think I could be friends with. It would have been a good experience, but evidently I broke someone's rules. I'm sure this won't stay up long either. Thanks guys for spending some time with me (if you even get to read this).

Bye,

J
