Posted at 1:56pm on Jan. 4, 2008 2008 Still Duncan Hunter's Year?

By Mike Beardsley

Duncan Hunter Header

Should he still be in the race come January 19, I'm still voting for Duncan Hunter in the First in the South GOP Primary (hence the banner).

However that's not what I'm talking about. Something Rush Limbaugh said on yesterday's program got me thinking about how 2008 can be Congressman Hunter's year. Rush talked about this being Hunter's first foray into national politics and that there would be future opportunities for him should he be so inclined.

Posted at 4:41pm on Dec. 7, 2007 Now More than Ever: Duncan Hunter for President

By Mike Beardsley

Are you starting to find out more than you'd like about the top-tier candidates for the Republican Nomination? Looking for someone who is a conservative, a straight talker, and someone who understands the dangers America faces? Looking for someone who has shown they can win over Independents and Conservative Democrats?

I suggest you take another look at Congressman Duncan Hunter for President. I’m not a high powered campaign operative, I’m just a regular guy who’s a conservative republican. Let me share some of the reasons to support Duncan Hunter for President.

Posted at 12:05pm on Nov. 29, 2007 Anderson Cooper was NOT in control

By Mike Beardsley

Was it just me or did it seem like Anderson Cooper had no control as the moderator over yesterday's CNN You Tube Debate?

I know this was supposed to be a more open format but frankly it just seemed like a free for all. Granted I could only LISTEN to the debate as I was in the car so maybe it played differently on TV.

Anybody else get the feeling the Cooper was just along for the ride? He sounded more like a high school substitute teacher with zero teaching experience trying to keep a class of students under control long enough to pick up a per diem pay check.

Posted at 1:42pm on Nov. 22, 2007 Duncan Hunter - The Class of Reagan

By Mike Beardsley

I recently found this article by Mark Alexander about Duncan Hunter’s Campaign, originally appearing in the April 2007 edition of the Patriot Post:

In it Alexander describes, not only Hunter's Conservative credentials, but also how Hunter won his seat originally in a 2-to-1 Democratic district against an incumbent. For those not familiar with Congressman Hunter it provides some good information.

Posted at 8:33pm on Nov. 2, 2007 Sitting with Unpopular Kids at Duncan Hunter's Lunch Table

By Mike Beardsley

I'm in limited company - sitting with the other unpopular kids at Duncan Hunter’s lunch table.

Wow that sounds pretty plain...probably there is a more glitzy or stylish way of saying it...maybe something like I'm a member of an elite group of people or perhaps the membership in my group is highly selective...then again I'm not a Democratic candidate from Illinois emphasizing style over substance. I'm a simple-minded Conservative Republican so speaking plainly is acceptable.

I'm in limited company because I'm supporting Duncan Hunter for President in the Republican Primary - I'm sticking to my principles. I can’t see supporting a candidate who doesn’t share my values just to win an election. As I said, I'm in limited company and there's lots of room at my lunch table.

Posted at 7:06pm on May 15, 2007 I'm with Anne Coulter Supporting Duncan Hunter

By Mike Beardsley

I'm with Ann Coulter supporting Duncan Hunter (www.gohunter08.com). He did well in the first debate, I think he'll do well tonight. He's right on border security, gun control, defense and Life and he's just more articulate than Tancredo.

Even if Thompson (Fred) gets in, I'm supporting Duncan Hunter because he is wrong on the illegal alien issue and doesn't like to campaign.

Folks really should take a closer look at Duncan Hunter both on his website and in the debate tonight, do that and you may just find that conservative Republican candidate you've been looking for.

Posted at 10:13pm on Mar. 28, 2007 Conservatives need our support Now

By Mike Beardsley

It is still early - you might not know it by all the media coverage but it's still early. Still plenty of time for the big names, like Thompson and Gingrich (or some other dream team conservative candidate) to get in later. Still...

With the lack of courage on display in the White House and in Congress on the Republican side of the aisle, I think it is time for conservatives to stop waiting around for someone who may or may not ever get into the race - I'm not throwing rocks, I was one of them until today. Today I decided to support the conservatives who have had the courage to declare for president and take a stand for the conservative principles they believe in. There are a number of them running with various positives and negatives, which I have outlined in previous posts.

Posted at 11:40pm on Mar. 14, 2007 Time to Get Tough

By Mike Beardsley

What's happened to the GOP? It seems like we are reliving 1975 all over again. Since when has the hat in hand apology approach ever worked in the MSM? It didn't help Ford get re-elected in 1976 and it won't help the GOP regain control of the congress (to say nothing for retaining the White House) in 2008.

Ever since November the Grand Old Party has been retreating faster than the French on everything from the Attorney General cleaning house, to voting FOR non-binding resolutions to enbolden the terrorists to whinning about General Pace.

Posted at 10:44pm on Mar. 8, 2007 2008: Still About Liberty & Judges

By Mike Beardsley

Lately I've been thinking many in the GOP are missing what is really at stake in 2008. What's at stake in 2008? Only two little things: Liberty and Judges. Unfortunately, we (GOP Primary voters) seem so eager to find candidates that appeal to Independents and folks so uninformed they are "undecided" until the last minute - people who can tell you all the contestants on American Idol, but haven't a clue who the Vice-President, Speaker of the House, or Senate Majority leader is. Many in the GOP want so much to win that any RINO will do...paging Lincoln Chaffee...ok maybe not HIM.

Posted at 3:38pm on Feb. 17, 2007 "2nd Tier" Republicans that Conservatives should look at

By Mike Beardsley

I'm quickly growing weary hearing about "the Big 3" GOP candidates for President the media's happily trotting out as the sacrificial lambs for the Dem nominee (in most reports read) Hillary's corrination as our next president.

Can't you just hear Chris Mathews et al saying something like "There are three candidates for you GOP primary voters, each more liberal than the last...which one would you like Hillary to beat?"
