Posted at 3:41pm on Feb. 9, 2008 A case for Mike Huckabee for Vice President

By drewmc2001

Hah! I got you to look. Actually, my post has less to do with supporting Huckabee for VP than it does pointing out the importance of social conservatism in the election process.

Before people chastise me for a lack of history on the boards, I have been registered on RS for 2 1/2 years. When I lost my job a year and a half ago to my job being outsources to a call center in India, things got a bit difficult for me and so I took a hiatus from Redstate.com while I sought other employment, at that point I didn't have time to post, just time to read. But the pace of things on the boards and in the primary race has finally stirred me up enough to re-enter the fray.

Ok, it's a cheesy heading, with only little relevance for my first diary on Red State.  However, the powers that be suggested that we write about congressional elections that could matter, and it just so happens that I make my humble abode in the 17th congressional district of Texas.  For the uninitiated (or uninterested), that is President Bush's district, which is currently held by Chet Edwards, of Waco (spare me the jokes).
