In what will readily be recognized as my most valuable contribution to Redstate in the two years and 28 weeks during which I have poked, annoyed, mocked, insulted and genuinely grown fond of my fellow commentors, I am giving us all a break and will no longer be adding my inflation adjusted, two cents worth to the collective knowledge.
As was so often the case during my tenure, I have found myself in agreement with and unable to refute the dearly departed and sorely missed Thomas “the Ragin’ Cajun” Crown. In short, the Republican presidential candidates, taken singularly or collectively, hold little interest for me. It now appears that John McCain, whose only distinction is that he has been running for President longer than Hillary, will be given the opportunity to carry the Party’s Standard firmly attached to a Bob Dole signature model Zimmer frame.

Posted at 12:57pm on Jan. 28, 2008 Tbone To Vote For Romney!
By Tbone
In that I will doubtlessly participate in the California primary, I have finally focused on the attributes of the various candidates so that I can make a studied choice as to who to give my doubtlessly deciding vote.(Sorry, Fred you left too soon) I have come to the conclusion that Romney exclusively possesses certain qualities that have left me no choice but to cast my vote for the Mitter. Following, I will enumerate those qualities so that you, the reader, may be edified. Those qualifying qualities are:

Posted at 11:14am on Jan. 25, 2008 Peggy Noonan is an Airhead, Once Again.
By Tbone
The poor dear, once again thinking she is somewhat relevant reveals in her WSJ Journal editorial further proof of her ineptitude in analyzing anything more complex than the mirror image created by he right and left hands by blaming GWB for the current sorry state of the Republican Party.
"This is absurd. George W. Bush destroyed the Republican Party, by which I mean he sundered it, broke its constituent pieces apart and set them against each other. He did this on spending, the size of government, war, the ability to prosecute war, immigration and other issues.

"Do you need anybody
I need somebody to love
Could it be anybody
I want somebody to love"
Beatles '67
Now that Fred is gone, I have nobody to love. Thomas Crown, in his recent autoeulogy, very eloquently setforth the reasons that none of the the Republican dwarfs pretending to be POTUS- Ready were worthy of his support. He, of course, included Fred in his critique and with what he said of Fred I have little issue.

Posted at 8:23pm on Nov. 30, 2007 I Have Decided to Become President of the United States.
By Tbone
I am pleased to announce that I've decided to become President of the United States. There are several reasons for this some of which are personal others are because I feel that I owe something to the common people.
On the personal level, the pay is okay with a good retirement program. It seems to include room and board and a 747 plus rich folk from all over the world give you gifts that you can take with you, along with selected furnishings, when you leave office. You can also sell pardons which only cost you the paper on which they're printed, kind of like the Mint. Afterwards you get lots of money for giving boring speeches to rooms full of fools who have paid you the money up front.

Posted at 2:47pm on Nov. 20, 2007 The Singule Most Important Issue to come before SCOTUS.
By Tbone
SCOTUS has decided to hear the Second Amendment Case. It is time that we found out what the word "People" means. The lower court majority ruling is very definitive. Any Justice that can not concur will show that their appointment was an absolute travesty.

It case you missed the this latest abuse of Senate investigation power, take a quick read. Now, I am not defending the targets of this old fool's ire. I have no idea if they are guilty of abuse or not. Nor do I view this as a government/religion matter. What I do know is that the IRS is charged with investigating tax exempt organizations and making compliance determinations, not some publicity hungry panel of fools like what is created every time you seat 5 or more US Senators in a row.

Posted at 5:33pm on Oct. 4, 2007 Has RedState Changed its Identity?
By Tbone
I have always assumed, as the name RedState implies, that this site was a political site primarily concerned with the trials, tribulations but most importantly, the advancement of the Republican Party.
Granted, the conservative agenda is not always a perfect match with the Party's platform but I think most would agree that the Republican Party is the only realistic political entity positioned to advance any of the conservative agenda.

Posted at 10:33pm on Oct. 3, 2007 Democrats: Parasites without a Country.
By Tbone
It is time to drop all pretenses. The leadership of the Democrat Party is only interested in the Democrat Party and has no interest in the United States of America. They can't be traitors nor can their acts be considered treasonous because they have become true ex-patriots as assuredly as if they had physically left America and formally renounced their citizenship.
However, they have no other place they prefer because here is where they receive their sustenance. But, in that they care not for the well being of their host, they can only be considered parasites feasting on our political, social and economic systems and adding nothing positive in return.
