By Charging Piper

So with big Clinton wins likely in West Virginia and Kentucky, there is a very good chance Hillary will find herself on June 4 with more total Democratic primary votes than Obama.

Thus, we could very well end up with the utterly side-splitting spectacle of Democrats arguing amongst themselves whether or not they should "count all the votes." One wonders how Al Gore would weigh in.

Of course the Obama camp's position will be to "disenfranchise" Florida and Michigan, or to count each voter as half a person (I suppose three-fifths would be too non-pc).

Posted at 1:25pm on Oct. 24, 2007 The truth about the Jena 6

By Charging Piper

Like most of you, I've followed the Jena 6 story with passing interest, much like the Duke rape accusations last year. I always figured there was much more to the story than Big Media was reporting, but didn't have the time, energy, and frankly the interest level to delve into it further. The truth would eventually get out.

Sure enough, it turns out that Big Media has horribly screwed up another one. You've heard the myth -- racist white students hung a noose from a schoolyard tree in order to intimidate black students. Heroic black students beat up the redneck noose-hanger. Racist white DA and all-white jury throw the book at poor black kids. This is the version that every left-leaning MSM reporter would love to be true as it fits perfectly with their view of the world.

Posted at 8:24pm on Oct. 1, 2007 My Pledge to fellow Republicans

By Charging Piper

The next four months leading up to the official nomination process is sure to see an incredible amount of infighting among us here at RedState and among Republicans in general. Many of us have strong attachments to particular Republican candidates. Some of us, such as myself, still have not decided who we will support. Some of us are quick to disparage Republican contenders for various and in many cases totally legitimate reasons. Much of that debate is fine and entirely appropriate. For now.

Posted at 4:12pm on Jul. 25, 2007 General George S. Patton on the Global War on Terror

By Charging Piper

FoxNews.com has this posted atop their webpage as of 3pm on Wednesday. Give the Fox crew credit for having the fortitude to post something on their site that desperately needs to be heard far and wide.

George S. Patton speaks the truth. Again.

Of course it would be nice if we had a Patton in 2007. I can't think of anyone who speaks this bluntly about the stakes in the current war and about what we must do.

Posted at 12:18pm on May 14, 2007 Devil Take the Hindmost -- Cleansing the GOP Caucus

By Charging Piper

Erick's call to stand up and fight the coddlers of corruption in the GOP caucus inspired this idea.

There used to be a race in track and field called "Devil Take the Hindmost." A dozen or so runners would start out and at the end of each lap a guy, literally dressed like the devil, would race out and tap on the shoulder the runner who was in last place at the end of that lap. That guy was out.

Posted at 11:27am on Apr. 21, 2007 Iran is Cho

By Charging Piper

We've all spent this past week reading about the troubled history of the Virginia Tech mass murderer. With the benefit of hindsight it should have been crystal clear that this guy was a ticking time bomb. He exhibited more than enough warning signs -- viciously anti-social, stalking women, referred for mental health treatment, scaring teachers, writing disturbing plays, etc. There is no consensus on what should have been done, but "someone should have done something." And here we are a week later with every armchair psychologist in the country playing the "coulda woulda shoulda" game.

Posted at 11:26pm on Apr. 1, 2007 The behavior of American soldiers in Iraq

By Charging Piper

If Iraq the Model is not on your regular reading list then it should be. The March 30 entry is of particular note because it details the courtesy and respect shown by American soldiers to regular Iraqi citizens who are not troublemakers.

Posted at 5:39pm on Feb. 5, 2007 Chuck Norris endorses Newt Gingrich for President (seriously)

By Charging Piper

Our main man Chuck Norris is officially endorsing Newt Gingrich for President.
http://worldnetdaily.com/news/printer-friendly.asp?ARTICLE_ID=54099

It seems Mr. Norris believes that Newt, despite his "personal past shortcomings," is the man our Founding Fathers would most likely want in the Oval Office. And if it is good enough for the Founding Fathers, it is good enough for Chuck.

He's Chuck Norris.
