In a sniveling attempt at trying to excuse yet another Obama gaffe news story regarding the "bitter" speech given by Senator Obama in Marin County at the beginning of April, the WaPo inserted a quote that pushed the envelope, even for them.
After quoting Donna Brazile, an "uncommitted Superdelegate", who said that the speech could indeed hurt Obama's chances, they followed with this gem:

One of my idiot leftie buddies was trying to make an analogy of the Bush administration being like a bad band with a worse lead singer. It inspired me to liken the Democrat field of Clinton and Obama to a political version of:
Milli Vanilli.
It's perfect! Singing someone else's tired, empty bubblegum songs, receiving accolades from the music press while being complete frauds, and fighting with each other the entire time.

By Foppa
I am a resident of Denver, Colorado. We're blessed with beautiful weather nearly all the time, lots to do, and a community of musicians that are generally pretty easy pickings in debates regarding things political.
On the site www.denvermessageboard.com in the 'general chat' section, a combination of anonymous and logged in users gang up on me, since I'm apparrently the only Republican in the local music community. I work hard to maintain civility while being called everything from a xenophobe to a racist to a nazi. I also usually try to draw out particularly knuckleheaded posts from these folks and use my responses to try to impart philosophy. The problem is, when unbridled anti-Americanism is the norm, having an opinion based in reality doesn't go as far as it probably should.
Yesterday, though, I had enough. On a thread titled "Pentagon Admits Chemical Weapons Were Used in Iraq" I finally tried to cut to the chase. After trying fruitlessly to describe how WP use in Fallujah was not in fact napalm used to carpet bomb women and children in an otherwise peaceful hamlet, I asked why we'd need secret banned weapons to take Fallujah in the first place, I gave them the reality that they weren't interested in hearing.
My post:
"Why would we expose ourselves to international outrage by using banned (not) 'chemical weapons' against civillians, if we have the power and means to raze the city and everyone in it without using the banned (not) weapons?
Here's what this is all about.
It is a search to demonize any possible aspect of the US action in Iraq. If you're wrong, and there was no effort to burn innocent people with banned weapons, what do you think that does to the troops that fought valiantly and honestly there?
Fallujah was an insurgent stronghold where factories made car bombs and IEDs, and where people like Zarqawi (who is a brave freedom fighter, right?) operated freely. It is now being rebuilt, and life there is returning to whatever normal might be in a war zone.
This is the essence of why so many Viet Nam veterans hate John Kerry. He lied and said he had witnessed atrocities, that it was the norm, and not the exception. All these things were done to further his own political aims without regard for how his lies would affect other vets that were far braver than he.
This is exactly what is going on here. Most of you don't give a [crud] about our troops, or the Iraqis. This is about pushing an agenda at any cost. I'd love for someone to be honest about this, but I don't think it's going to happen."
I continued with a civility disclaimer, but the damage had been done. The only replies I received were a couple of rather hurt-sounding 'I do care! I care about all life' whines, and pretty much silence. That was a real first for me on the board, and I have to admit it felt good to call these guys out for the garbage they spew daily.
It was also a very telling silence. Perhaps they were confronted with the real truth that hatred has overwhelmed any real issue at hand. The obsession to damage in any way an administration that has beaten disbelieving Libs at nearly every turn has overwhelmed nearly any possible positive contribution to the political arena that they might have.
