According to the latest poll from Rasmussen Reports.
Why do our esteemed senators insist on shoving this horrid, unpopular legislation down our throats? Everyone should forward this to every Republican senator.

By mggbraves
Here is the letter I sent to my local newspaper regarding the Miers nomination. If anyone wants to use it as a model for your own letter, feel free.
"As an ardent conservative who has, until recently, been a strong supporter of President Bush, I am deeply disappointed in the nomination of Harriet Miers to the United States Supreme Court.
In Federalist #76, Alexander Hamilton wrote (regarding judicial nominations): "To what purpose then require the co-operation of the Senate? I answer, that the necessity of their concurrence would have a powerful, though, in general, a silent operation. It would be an excellent check upon a spirit of favoritism in the President, and would tend greatly to prevent the appointment of unfit characters from State prejudice, from family connection, from personal attachment, or from a view to popularity."
Let's compare this to the Miers nomination:
Favoritism? Check. (She's a member of the president's staff.)
State prejudice? Check. (She's from Texas.)
Personal attachment? Check. (She was Bush's personal lawyer.)
View to popularity? Check. (She was on the Democrat "no filibuster" list.)
Dozens of eminently more qualified, bona fide conservative candidates were passed over so the president could give his personal attorney a cushy new job. Do your constitutional duty, Senators Graham and DeMint. Reject this nominee."
