Whatever underlying condition Fidel Castro might be suffering from, CNN is reporting that he is in critical condition with a significant infection after three failed surgeries on his large intestine.

Buttressing that good economic news is that oil closed to an 8 month low, below $59 a barrel, with no sign of the tide turning.

At the moment, the Dow is up 30.41 and stands at 11,699.81.

Perhaps the specific moment is when he appeared in the Monday Night Football promo video, with Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan, who seductively dropped her towel and jumped into the arms of the then Philadelphia Eagles player.

Flags of Our Fathers is the Clint Eastwood directed movie that chronicles the Battle of Iwo Jima and the life stories of the six men who raised the flag on Mount Suribachi, which was a pivotal moment in WWII.
The movie opens in the United States on October 20, 2006.
You can view the trailer here.
It looks as though it will be a very good movie.
Also, Eastwood had a Japanese writer author the companion movie, Letters from Iwo Jima, that shows the Japanese viewpoint from the Battle of Iwo Jima, will open in Japan on Dec. 9, 2006.
It is interesting to see.....from United 93, World Trade Center, Flags of Our Father, Flyboys and perhaps more to come soon, the rally 'round the flag movies are in abundance during this time of war. Just as it was during WWII and to an extent during the Cold War.
