There are a good many GOP-voting Iowegians who would consider Huckabee conservative enough to warrant their vote.
And despite the constant hammering to the contrary by Rush, Sean, and a cadre of contributors here, Huckabee's conservativism still rang true enough to win Iowa.
Rush went apoplectic yesterday, getting as heated as I've heard him get in a long time because a caller dared compare Huckabee to Ronaldus Magnus. Rush flatly denied that Huckabee is a conservative.

With a few days of perspective, the landscape isn't looking so flat after all for conservatives on the Illinois landscape. Although liberal republican Judy Baar Topinka captured the party's gubernatorial nomination, she did so with hardly a mandate, at just 38%. The two conservatives, against whom she ran, out-polled her.
