I really have no analysis of Iowa but this

By Ben Domenech

Sun Tzu offers no guidance for us for this kind of situation. This stuff is just plain crazy. I've been staring at these maps for a while now, and just have to smile and shake my head. Ruffini and others are doing a swell job of picking it apart, but as a matter of predicting where we go from here, the only unique comments I have are these:

-Normally after an election, you have books come out from a campaign or two arguing "if only it weren't for incident X or decision Y or missed opportunity Z, we would've won." In 2008, every single one of the GOP campaigns could write that book. They can be packaged together in a box set called "Squandered."

-I think if trends continue and absent a scandal implosion, it comes down to a three-way battle between Huckabee, McCain and Rudy in Florida, setting up a bizarre 2/5 slate. And if that's the case, a brokered convention is no longer a dream, but an actual likelihood. The GOP can't afford to go two months without a candidate, so someone's going to need to get the heavy hitters in a room and work this out prior to Minneapolis.
