Flag Burning at Gathering of Eagles by Anti-War Protesters

Here's an excellent account of the counter-protest this weekend by Jack Langer. This is the first report I've seen of any flag-burning.
"They[anti-war protesters] took a series of votes, decided to leave the bridge to the police, and backed off about 20 yards. Then, in one final act of 'resistance' before vacating the bridge, one of them burned an American flag, to the cheers of all the rest. This incident went unreported in all of the mainstream media, despite the presence on the bridge of numerous journalists and photographers."

You can make certain idiots never run for office.

Every time one of these idiots burns a US flag, it underscores the unhinged views of the radical left to the unwashed masses in a way that cogent arguments never will.
Remember that Rick Monday rescued a flag from two guys who jumped into center field to burn it.

Monday was no hall of famer, but to this day he is remembered for his fete on April 25, 1976. From BabyHiccup's Blog at Fox Sports
Monday has received various sorts of praise for his act, complete with awards, plaques, admiration and in 1976 the Chicago Cubs presented him with the actual flag from the incident.Recently, the baseball Hall of Fame named the quick thinking act of Monday one of the top 100 events in baseball history. It may be a top performance in baseball, but it was more than that, it was a top performance from an athlete who made a life changing decision in a split second.
We should never take steps to infringe on free expression, especially when exercising said free expression forever labels that person as a member of the lunatic fringe.

You just basicly summed up how I feel about it. By the way I never even knew that happened in 1976.

Someone must have taken a picture. Otherwise, this is just so much hearsay, and isn't very productive.
Lots of things happen in the world without pictures recording them. In fact, most of the things that have ever happened, on the order of 100%, have done so without the aid of photographic evidence.
Almost all criminal convictions are obtained without a picture of the crime occurring. This is a much lower standard, as flag burning is not even illegal. To say that we need a photo or it didn't happen is just plain scurrilous.

but this is, as the author pointed out, the first report of flag burning.
I would have expected to see this over at Hotair, FreeRpublic or Captain's Quarters.
There are many things that the anti-war protesters can be attacked for, such as an out-dated or inoperable message, idiotic spokespeople or just being incoherent.
If I'm wrong, and this incident pops up elsewhere, I'll gladly stand corrected.
Because flag burning really upsets American's? If it became widely known that flag burning was part and parcel of these events that call for an end to American everything, not just war, would the chances of the counter demonstrations becoming larger and more vocal hinder on the free speech rights of the protest everything crowd? I suspect it might.
No doubt though that one of the protesters will have taken pictures and will be posting it, it's sort of like potty training a child, they want to show you...

The anti-war protesters are a cowardly lot. They just don't make anarchists like they used to.
