Well, "J-Pod" has been saying this all along, as has Dick Morris...His analysis isn't bulletproof but it's a solid argument. The question I have is about his delegate counting: I thought the GOP had slashed Florida's delegate total in half (a less extreme sanction than the Democrats, er, disensfranchising their Florida voters entirely) as punishment for moving up its primary. Is he taking account of that, or am I wrong?
(Of course, Fred should still give Rudy a battle in Florida, but for now I'm playing along with Podhoretz's extrapolation from the current polls.)

I hate to say this with Mitt Romney on the front page right now, but if Romney starts showing some serious weakness in the states he's been banking on, then that may be the worst news Giuliani could have.
Because that could put is in a position when it's Giulaini vs the anti-Giuliani, with everyone opposed to him rallying around one of the remaining candidates (whether Thompson, Huckabee, Hunter, or whoever).
Giuliani benefits best I think from a split right, not from a fading Romney.

I've been of the opinion for a long time that it's sort of Giuliani against everyone else and that his support is about as high as it's ever going to get. For him to win the nomination (which I still don't believe is going to happen) there have to be at least 3 other candidates still fighting hard by Florida.

Giuliani is a liberal, Thompson lacks inspiration, Romney just follows the bandwagon, he is no conservative and we all know it. Let's stop ignoring Huckabee, he can win! He is a charismatic experienced leader. He has done very well in the debates and is up there with McCain in the polls. Yet the media continues to ignore him. He will inspire and motivate the base of the Republican party, and when that happens, we win big!
They'll both botch the War on Terror, but at least Paul won't botch the economy, too (I don't see him being able to get a Fed abolishment through the Congress).

Rush Limbaugh is fighting back from the "Media Matters" smear about what he said about phony soldiers yesterday. It is up at YouTube:
Wubbies World, MSgt, USAF (Retired):
public static void main(String[] args) {
System.out.println("An argument is a sequence of statements aimed at demonstrating the truth of an assertion.); }
...but, Jeebus, you'd expect Media Matters to be a little smarter in how they produce a smear job. This wasn't junior high. This is what junior high sneers at.
'Course, they only had to fool a few Democratic Senators, so maybe they didn't feel like working when they didn't have to.

What grade does that make the average Kossak? Because they are eating this thing up over there.

Although that's giving them alot of undue credit....
It's war -- so when can we start shooting back at the enemy Democrats?
I just made the unfortunate decision to read some of the stories about this and the comments posted on those stories, too my undying regret.
These are the people throwing their weight around with the Democrats?
I'm laughing on the outside, but on the inside ... yep. Still laughing.

Each to his own, he's not for everybody. As far as E Pluribus Unum is concerned, Rush is the most influential, and one of the more articulate, apologists for conservatism on the American landscape.
--He is the SDI to the left's daily missile attack of hate and lies.
--He is the yin to the left's putz (the left is not good enough to be a yang, and they are BARELY good enough to be a putz).
--He is the NUCLEAR BOMB to the left's pointy sticks.
I could go on.....but it's Friday, and beer work calls....

dung professor from Syracuse (black) called Juan a "happy negro" becasue Juan sided with BO on racial issues...also because Juan appears on The Factor...
even the Rev Jesse denounced the prof.
" in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."

to clarrify...Jesse was on last night...and off the air, it was said by BO that Jesse denounced the attack on Juan.
I have to say...even though he is loud, I like BO. Much like the reality of GWB, I think BO really is a good person that wants to do right.

I like Bill. He can lean populist, and his emphasis on "the folks" can seem alternately condescending or plain silly, but he has a lot of useful segments and stories. He has a huge audience and, ultimately, he's providing a solid, traditional point of view.

as is Juan and Cosby....in fact I will go out and by JW's new book on race.
It's getting worse, and I feel like it could blow at any minute..any.

Besides, I like being yelled at by opinionated Irishmen. It kind of reminds me of church in the 1950's. :>)
and in this case the irony is just so thick. This professor comes on to discuss supposed racist comments on the part of O'Reilly. What does he do, that's right he makes an unbelievably racist comment to describe Juan Williams. Of course, as O'Reilly rightly points out, he wasn't challenged and for that CNN will pay. CNN and every media that has run with this story will forever be stained with this story. This is just unbelievable. This is an absolutely outrageous story that they are trying to prop up. Here is the entire dialogue that lead to the bru ha ha. Decide for yourself if there is anything racist there.

to me is it makes it perfectly clear that there is a segment of black America that does not want to bridge the racial divide...led by those that are supposed to truly care.......

"it makes it perfectly clear that there is a segment of black America that does not want to bridge the racial divide"
The problem is that when you have spent your life believing you are a victim, that its not really worth trying that hard in life because the system is rigged against you anyway, and that you therefore don't have to take responsibility for whatever problems you have, it is really hard to give up that mentality.
People who think that way are the segment of black America that does not want to bridge the racial divide, and the reason why is because it's so painful to give up that mentality. In fact they are heavily vested in perpetuating it.

I don't wnat to be a pest, but they are the nine most "terrifying" words, not "dangerous". Thou shalt not misquote Ronaldus Magnus. ;-)
Though I got said quote from Judge Napolitano's book. It is better to blame him over me. Still the meaning is the same however Reagan deserves nothing less than exact quote.

my call that the blogosphere must keep the pressure on George Soros. We finally have this guy in our cross hairs and we can't let go. There have been several excellent stories done right here at Redstate and all over the blogosphere. We cannot let the pressure up. This guy is dangerous and we must continue to work to expose him. Here are several excellent reads (yes including my own)

if this story continues to spread throughout the blogosphere, along with O'Reilly and the business mags, it will soon enough get picked up in the MSM. If we let up, we will let him find his way back into the shadows, and a la Keyser Soze, he is unlikely to pop up again.

Do billionaire businessmen with the power to push around whole markets really care what other people think? Do they have to?

first to Neil, pressure, by pressure I mean continuing to advance the story, won't make him hide it will finally bring him out of the shadows. Here is what he does. He started an organization called Open Society Initiative, and then OSI went and funded another group called the Tides Foundation, and then the tides foundation went and spread money around a series of smear merchants that include Moveon.org and Media Matters. Now, why would someone want to use such a complicated scheme with which to fund groups? It is because they want to remain as under the radar as possible. Most of the country has no idea that Media Matters is actually funded by George Soros, who funded them simply to go after anyone he disagrees with. Furthermore, most of the country doesn't know that George Soros is a billionaire with a radical agenda that is using his wealth to buy the Democratic Party. What do you think would happen if this relationship was brought out into the open? For one, the Reps not the Dems would win in 2008, and second he and his minions would be shunned. Now, it would be much easier if these stories ran on the front pages of the Washington Post, the NY Times, and the L.A. Times, and CBS, NBC, and ABC all did this story on their evening news, but they aren't and some because they are in bed with him.
Thus, it is up to the blogosphere. We have a powerful ally in O'Reilly. We can essentially work together. You can all email him with any important stories vis a vis George Soros and he will use his audience to get the word out. We also have another powerful ally in the business journals. They also have done good work on it. If we relent, this story will die and Soros will go back underground so to speak, a la Keyser Soze.
We have a chance because between the Betray Us ad, O'Reilly's bru ha ha, and James Hansen, three separate media stories have one common link, George Soros.

that needed to be seen as being responsible for all of this. It needed to be seen as a spontaneous, populist type of movement, not one led and orchestrated by this evil creep of a man.
HTML Help Central for Red Staters
Reality: Thompson/Romney Dream: Santorum/Watts.
that is my point. This guy comes to America. He decides that he hates everything about it and he decides that he will use his entire fortune and business acumen if necessary to change it in a radical direction that most people don't want. Instead of owning and operating a newspaper that spouts propaganda that everyone knows is coming from him, he sets up this loose network of attack dogs and he is, as O'Reilly put it, the wizard behind the curtain. It seems as though all of this happened spontaneously, when really he orchestrated all of it with his endless fortune and business acumen. Does anyone really think that Moveon.org would be anything without his backing? Media Matters, ACT, etc. This is what needs to be brought out into the open.
"The nine most dangerous words in the English language are 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help'"

and what happens then? If he disappears and the funding from him dries up for whatever reason, will it matter? Has the template that he has designed become strong enough to become self-perpetuating? Curious as to what you all think. Personally, I don't know, but I have a suspicion that now that these leftists know how to do it, they'll just keep on doing it.
these places all work because they have an endless pocket behind them. Moveon would still be around however they would not be nearly as wealthy. Media Matters would go away in six months tops. He started this network and while they have other donors, he is the money man. They would not last long if they actually had to recruit grass roots.
"The nine most dangerous words in the English language are 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help'"

out there. Soros employs a number of people to do his dirty work. You don't think that they have learned how to play his games on their own yet? For deep pockets, given the ones in Hollyweird alone, you don't think there's enough cash to be had by those who "have a plan?"
I know that most people aren't worth 8.5 billion and willing to use each and every penny if necessary on their mission to change America. This is a hypothetical question that to me is irrelevant. If Soros is exposed the whole movement is blown up, because all Americans will see it for what it is. If there are still far left kooks funding it let them. There are some nitwits still funding Air America but that doesn't make anyone listen. Once the country understands who he is and what he is doing the whole movement disintegrates. Furthermore, the Dems are in bed with this guy along with much of the MSM and once that is laid out to the whole world, those entities also lose quite a lot. NBC has been regurgitating much of what Media Matters puts out there as fact. They have been doing this for years. The NY Times has also done this. Once this is exposed, they lose even more credibility.
Once the public understands that the reason the Dem Presidential candidates wouldn't condemn the Moveon ad is because George Soros wields too much power in their party what do you think that does to their chances of getting elected.
Look, the Dems have used Karl Rove as their boogeyman for years, and the so called neocons. This is a real boogeyman and he can become a campaign issue. Does America want to elect a party beholden to this Anti American radical?
ACT, for instance run by former Clinton WH staffer, Harold Ickes, was a creation of Soros. What happens when this becomes public?
Soros is a really bad guy and he holds a lot of power in that sphere of the world. This story can come out but the pressure must stay on him.

socialism is easy to sell when it is packaged correctly. Here is something I found scary,
""The proposal was met with enthusiastic applause at an event aimed to encourage young people to excel and engage in politics.
"I think it's a wonderful idea," said Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, an Ohio Democrat who attended the event and has already endorsed Clinton. "Every child born in the United States today owes $27,000 on the national debt, why not let them come get $5,000 to grow until their 18?"
Blake Zeff, a spokesman for the senator's campaign, said a baby bonds program "is not a firm policy proposal but an idea under consideration.""
People like this and most don't understand that you simply can't get something for nothing. They think that every baby will get 5k and no one will have to pay for it. That is because the payment will be hard to track. Your taxes will go up but it won't be linked directly to the 5k bond. Frankly, as a campaign promise, like most socialist campaign promises, this one works.

Hillary didn't tell you that the "free" $5,000 will be managed for you by the government. This woman sets more new lows than a dot com stock in the tech bust.

and yet when it was introduced the people loved it. Again, do not underestimate her powers of persuasion. I am amazed that anyone falls for it. She has been quoted as saying things like "we're in it together society" and "shared responsibility", now that is frankly socialism, and yet the people are buying it. We need to stand up and call a spade a spade, her ideas are flat out socialist, and then show that socialism fails everywhere. Frankly, I wish some Rep would finally address her plethora of government nanny ideas with my signature. There is no better way to respond to her endless socialist ideas than with the simple eloquence of Ronald Reagan.

Definitely a little good news for a Friday.
From sweetness-light.com a great Story
"A federal judge refused Friday to dismiss a defamation case against Rep. John P. Murtha and ordered the Pennsylvania Democrat to give a sworn deposition in the case."
----------
"The Justice Department wanted the case dismissed because Murtha was acting in his official role as a lawmaker. Assistant U.S. Attorney John F. Henault said the comments were made as part of the debate over the war in Iraq…
Collyer said she was troubled by the idea the lawmakers are immune from lawsuits regardless of what they say to advance their political careers."
Thank God for a judge that won't be bullied.
