Is Santorum getting a Kerry bounce?
At last...at long, long last...

A McCulloch Research poll conducted over the weekend suggests the senate race in PA is tightening. It reports State Treasurer Bob Casey, Jr. leads Senator Rick Santorum 48.1-44.1% among "very likely voters." There's an interesting breakdown of how the election is shaping up regionally, and while McCulloch maintains the race is still Mr. Casey's to lose, he believes that Senator Santorum is now within striking distance. He even uses the word "upset."
Given the dismal flatness of the PA polls over the last eight weeks, the only factor that explains this shift is the John Kerry Factor. After Senator Kerry (D-EU) made his unfortunate "gaffe" last week, Mr. Casey, secure in his lead, played the party loyalist and praised Mr. Kerry's leadership and patriotism. Mr. Santorum pounced, released a powerful new ad (view it below), and may well be getting some traction at very long last. As the Senator is fond of saying, "My opponents win polls. I win elections." He speaks with the wisdom of experience and while this is still a long shot folks, if PA is back in play tomorrow's results remain anyone's guess despite what you might read in the Washington Post or the New York Times.

The thing about corruption is that it can be propogated in many different forms. Voting because some guy you met was "nice" really doesn't say much about the important substantive issues: is he honest? Credible? Not subject to special interests?
Just look at Santorum's "Operation Good Neighbor Foundation"...
what is substantive?...while i would personally rather the electorate make informed and rational decisions about who they pull levers for, the great thing about America and her representative democracy is that each citizen is allowed to vote for whoever he/she sees fit for whatever reason he/she sees fit.
From Keystone Politics:
"Early this morning, Keystone Politics editors received and released a poll by McCulloch Research and Polling showing that Rick Santorum was within 4 points of retaining his Senate seat. Further research into McCulloch Research and Polling shows that Rod McCulloch, principal at the firm, has been indicted in voter fraud and forgery in Illinois.
Accordingly we have removed this poll from our site. "
I still believe that the poll system is deeply, deeply flawed in this country, possibly to the point of being completely irrelevant. That's my hope for Santorum. However, if Santorum is to win tomorrow (GOTV and PRAY), it will be because of turnout and because of what Santorum has done in PA over the years as one of the finest Statesmen in the post-Reagan era, not because of a substantial Kerry-bounce.
It was a politically motivated indictment which took place a year ago, along the lines of Ronnie Earles indictment of DeLay.
At some point we need to take action to stop the Dems from indicting people they have political disagreements with.

There, that's much closer to reality.
I've been saying this for weeks on VoicePA and PennPatriot Online. The funny thing is that no one believes me and the mainstream media keeps down playing Kerry's comments.
The day after Kerry's comments was covered by the media, my politic buddies and I ate lunch at popular hotdog stand in Altoona, PA. Kerry's comments were the topic of conversation.
The truth is that Kerry's comments did awaken voters in this very pro military state. Plus, Bob Casey flubbed the Kerry campaign stop cancelation. He even defended Kerry and called him a 'Patriot' before the Kerry apology. Bad move.
All the Santorum/Casey polls breakdown in the following manner. Casey has always had 9 or ten point lead. There has been on average in all the polls between a ten or 13 point undecided vote. In my opinion those voters are not Democrats or independents. They have already made up their mind because of the Iraq war. The undecided voters are actually disgruntled fiscal conservatives and common sense Republican moderates unhappy with Iraq War. Kerry's commments opened the flood gates of these undecided voters to the Santorum camp.
The latest McCulloch Research Poll, shows Santorum down by only four points and seems is proof that the undecideds in the previous polls are flowing toward Santorum. This is truly unbelievable. Casey's lack of substance during his campaign has been a big mistake and Kerry's comments has jolted the Pennsylvania electorate. Casey's low key, I'm not Santorum campaign can't hold these voters. Go Santorum!
I vote for Santorum because I am a Rep. & I agree with him & also because I trust Dumocrats as far as I can throw Sweaty Teddy Kennedy
Mankind's first societal organizations were based on the family. The tribe arose out of these first familial organizations.
Some of these tribes gave birth to a privileged warrior class, possession of which, gave a moderate amount of protection to the tribes members from little insults from outsiders such as death and slavery. The tribes that either didn't have, or allowed their warrior class to slide down from their privileged position, have seen their broken pottery shards and other smashed possessions become the subject of study for innumerable archeologists and anthropologists over the years.
Democrats like John Kerry and Dick Durbin have done their utmost to damage America's warrior class, so much so, that had John Kerry been a clandestine KGB agent operating in the United States over these years his work would have reached the status of legend inside that service. As the saying goes "with friends like him, who needs enemies?"

How reliable is this guy? I live in western Pa. just outside of Pittsburgh & i might have been delusional but i have always believed Rick was going to win.I met him just after his election win over Harris Waffler & he couldn't have been nicer to me & everybody there.I live in a small town 4,000 residents or so, so there were not many people there for the Veterans Day ceremony. He was the main speaker & was great ,then he shook hands & talked to everybody there.Met some of John Kasich's relatves & he told them that John ask me where i was going for Veterans day & he said my hometown & John said hey I've got relatves that live there
