This quote comes from the old TV series Bonanza. A corrupt sheriff complains about electoral politics to cover up his contemptible misdeeds.

Democrat, Republican, or... Mike Gravel?

"It's getting harder and harder to get elected each election day without killing voters."

Ron Paul just went over $1 million dollars raised online in six days. Flame away please.

What's the betting for his total by the deadline?

Seriously Dr. Paul is causing me to take notice.

Would it really be so aweful if he won?

Border fence.
No IRS
Republicans would be popular again (Iraq pullout)

Maybe it is time for change.

I'm still a Fredhead.

RP is my second choice.

Smile Neil. A Republican is doing well raising money from the grassroots.

Allan Bartlett

Powder Blue Report

The trick is, can he translate money from the Democrats, Reformers, John Birchers, and worse, in to support from Republicans?

You don't think Republicans are giving to his campaign? Please, you're smarter than that to believe such nonsense. I don't have the breakdown and I don't think there's a way to quantify where all the money is coming from, but I know a lot of my GOP friends here in "The OC" have given. When the names of donors come out after Oct 15th, I'll go down the OC list with you and tell you who the Republicans are. Deal?

I'm sure it'd be a lot of work, but I'd love to see if donations to Ron Paul correlate better with donations to Ds or other Rs.

Heaven forbid.

Don't many of you support Julie Annie because of supposed crossover appeal?

I'm more sure he will change Washington than I am of Julie Annie, Flip (or if you prefer, Slick Willard) Romney, or McInsane.

Still like Fred.

RP is my fallback.

I'm a service disabled Army vet (Gulf War) who had given up on both parties (I was a Reagan Republican).

Ron Paul gives me hope for America- that we can get off this destructive path that we have been on for the past few years.

My vote, and my money, are going to Ron Paul- I contributed $100 out of that $1,000,000 Ron Paul raised- I wish it could have been more, but with my small disability check and only being able to work part time, I just don't have a lot to give.

I'll try to give a bit more next month.

I hope I don't get banned for mentioning Ron Paul- its my first post, but if I do, it will have been worth it.

James

My guess is double his total $$$ raised last quarter. So I'm guessing around $5 million

I only see bumper stickers and placeboards of one person everywere I go... Are these people actually buying the stuff or is the campaign giving it away? If so, were is he getting hte money from to give it away? The Ron Paul people are really nice and genuine. Amazing... oh I found this article:

HEADLINE: Fantasy Football Step aside
SP News Wire(SIM Press)- Austin, Texas
By Tim Kelly

Step aside fantasy football, a new simulation in the digital world is about ready to surpass you in popularity. The e-world is brewing with spammers, websites, blogs and the free flow of digital money in a very unique corner of the digital community. A new SIM community has arisen that is about ready to bring a large majority of voters into the fantasy world of “SIM POLITICS”.
Within this community, a simulated Presidential Candidate is far and above the leader in this new constitutional country called the United States. It started about 8 months ago when this SIM country decided to have its own 2008 Dictatorial elections. It appears as though this SIM country had been overwhelmed with scare tactics, taxation and a usurpation of its creators inherent individual rights within the program. But what the programmers and designers of this new community failed to realize was that all of the created participants within this matrix would take on a form of intelligence by themselves. Hence a SIM REVOLUTION was born.
The creators of the program have been fervently attempting to interject new software (a.k.a. Malware, spyware, viruses etc) into the main program but with no success. An example of such a new string of programming called “IGNORE” (Inherent Goal of Neocons Over Ronpaul rEvolution.. hence IGNORE) has systematically caused a backlash or “BLOWBACK”. The programmers prime contenders in both of the simulated programs political parties the Democrats or “communist” and the Republicans or “fascist” simply cannot compete. It appears as thought the peasants in this SIM country understand the original intent of the programmers or framers of this SIM community and are able to read and re-write any fraudulent changes into the base program.
The most recent attempt by the programmers was evident in the latest SIM debate that was broadcast in the broad-ban community. The programmers are coding into other potential dictators personalities the same likeness of the SIM peasants candidate “Ron Paul”. They have placed in key words such as liberty, freedom, states rights and limited government that have never been found in these other candidates repertoire. In effect, they are stealing from Ron Paul a platform that he has SIM-Lived since his creation in the SIM community.
The fascinating thing about this is that the peasant SIM community is not falling for it. A great example is the latest SIM funding drive by the RP SIM free-thinkers. At 4pm yesterday the SIM peasants had donated $479,000 SIM dollars to the RP for president cause. 15 hours later the donations had surpassed $673,000 dollars. The programmers have tried to insert and create anomalies for their dictatorial candidates by using “adding” or “matching” programs. These work by adding or matching other SIM donations thereby giving the impression that more SIM peasant are giving more money to their candidate. What they fail to realize is that the real SIM peasant community knows that the money is coming from the programmers (a.k.a. controllers or fascist) in an attempt to retain their power over the peasants.
In recent polls, the programmers have attempted to keep the on-line-SIM-poll results from the SIM public by hiding them or not publishing them in the SIM media. We have found a complete list of Straw-polls on www.ronpaul2008.com . What is unique about this site is that no matter what the results are, these SIM volunteers post the results. It doesn’t matter if RP took 1st, 2nd or 5th place they still list them. On other candidates sites they seem to only list the ones that make them look good… This program is called “CENSOR” (a.k.a. Control Encouraging Neocon Sample Of Results). Its SIMply amazing to watch a grassroots effort on the part of these SIM’s. They want only what the original framers (programmers) of their SIM country originally encoded into the framework of their nation. This SIM-Constitution is the base program that has driven this country to its historical heights, but has since fallen in recent years. This has been due in part to the insertion of a FIAT-SIM-Money system (against the original programmers intent) Universalism or Empire building (against the programmers original intent) and a blatant failure of SIM Representatives to adhere to their oaths of SIM-office (dido on original programming intent again).
The drive to accountability is not only starting at the individual monetary level, but others are spending large amounts of SIM money and time without donating directly to the SIM-Campaign of RP. A great example is www.dailypaul.com. This site has a plethora of information on this candidate. What’s amazing here is the high quality of the video on the site. These SIM peasants sure have done one heck of a job making digital likenesses of themselves and other supporters. One might even say that these actually look like REAL PEOPLE not SIM’s…
The bottom line is that it sure appears that the programmers are not succeeding in their attempt to coddle and huddle the masses into a neocon false holographic paradigm. These SIM peasants have acquired, through a natural inherent program, an individual desire to think outside the parameters of their base programming. It is reminiscent of the movie I-ROBOT and Bicentennial Man were group think is a death march, but individual awareness rises to freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. This writer says WOW! What a novel concept. You GO Ron (SIM) Paul

A life long Republican since 1966.... Ban Away.. Go Ron Paul.... welcome back Constitutional Governing..

I have a quota.

And, before you ask, it wouldn't have been for the article, although it might have if it were formatted well-enough to be worth more than a skim for swear words. It would have been for "finding" an article that you actually wrote, then giving your real name in the next blessed post.

This was impressive, even by the rigorous standards maintained by your compatriots.

Wow that Ron Paul, Ron Paul, Ron Paul, guy must really be popular and attracting all the brightest to his campaign!!!

We should all look into Ron Paul, Ron Paul, Ron Paul and see what he has to offer us fascists I mean regular folks so we can be part of the process too!

I believe there is a candidate that firmly holds the positions that most conservatives consider important. His name is Duncan Hunter, and since I discovered his convictions and positions I knew I had at long last found a candidate that I could whole-heartedly support. I realize that name recognition and money are the two factors that most likely lead to a successful campaign but I for one can't let this opportunity slip through my fingers. I am excited to be able to volunteer my time and efforts to help someone worthy of the presidency attempt to get elected. If you aren't familiar with Congressman Hunter, I urge you to visit: www.gohunter08.com and see if you agree that he is the Right Choice!

I found Duncan to be a great legislature. Same with his compatriot that is currently in jail from Southern Cal. Sorry Duncan, you didnt build that fence, the California Army National Guard did.. strange is doing you a favor. You should not give out personal info like that, particularly your miitary address when discussing politics. Good point on the Bots... appreciate your moderation. I am fortunate that the filters for us work rather well. Even stuff I would like to get, gets filtered... By the way, on my article, feel lucky that I can write even close to being what is considered correct english. The people we are getting in the forces today? Oh my.... :)

and have the full phone list for the base.

Stupid is an understatement, should I email all your coworkers and let them know you are giving out their information as well? It took me all of about 15 seconds to get all that...

What an alarming breach, I should report you just to keep you from doing damage to the rest of the service as you no doubt will with your smug attitude.

Even better I'll pass this on to an E6 Staff SGT and let her decide. (She's having a baby in a few weeks and is in a REALLY bad mood the last few days) Nothing like female Army with attitude!!!

Well done is better than well said. —Benjamin Franklin

Ehh Hemm.... If you feel as though anything that I have said is in anyway a breach or violates my oath to the Constitution. Than by moral conviction, your are ordered to do so. If you, on the other hand, believe that the free and open exchange of information is one of the foundations of our constitutional republic than act appropriatly also. I personally find all exchanges and opinions rather intriguing (had to look up that word to spell it). Keeps me on my toes so to say... You can either laugh, think how to respond or get defensive. Either way, I have enjoyed a conversation especially when I can clearl articulate my thoughts after hunting and pecking at this silly ergonomic thing they call a keyboard.. Then again, who am I? Which E6 is poignant? I do not know any pregnant E6's.. I dont know any E6's....or O6's... no bother anyway..

and I wish to see no one carelessly do it harm as a joke or thoughtless concern.

The E6 I mentioned is married to my son, another E6 SGT on active duty as is another of my sons of whom we are awaiting word.

I had actually hoped at first you were simply a blowhard fake soldier, you are not. I appreciate your service if not your politics but wish you would remember which comes first.

With that I bid you a good evening.

Well done is better than well said. —Benjamin Franklin

and we are thrilled she'll be along in a few feeks now.

Couple of great article on GW... very impressive my young Padwan..

Does everyone either love or hate Ron Paul?

Is there anyone who is, like, "I think Ron Paul is good, I just like Giuliani better?"

I've seen some guys really hating RP, and, man, that is not a good sign.

because is he half crazy. It could be that he does not take the War on Terror seriously. It could be that he wants us to destroy a financial system that has made this country the most wealthy in history.

Then again, It could be because he trashes our president and hints at global conspiracies. Or it could be that he attracts more moonbat 9/11 truthers than conservative Republicans. It could be because he blames US foreign policy for 9/11. Or it could be because his supporters are so annoying they are despises by the right, independents, and the left.

I am not sure why he is so polarizing, but maybe I have a few ideas on the subject.

Molon Labe!

I've started stepping up to defend Paul. I'm young but fairly reasonable I think and there's nothing wrong with him that I've seen other than his foreign policy and...let's face it we get the same there with a Demo.

He's a true constitutionalist though I must admit..

RP is quite a bit worse on foreign policy than any Demo candidate except maybe Kusinich, who has the same chance of being chosen as the nominee of his party as Ron Paul does.

So comments like this disqualify your opinion.

Maybe he's not your favorite, but, man, he is an intellectual of formidable magnitude. He is a Republican, although not from the interventionist strain.

Alot of his supporters are crazy, but so are everyone's supporters.

Mitt and his following believe that Joseph Smith is a prophet of Jesus Christ, and believe that they follow the most accurate doctrine of his existence (and it is not the Bible). That's crazy.

Giuliani's own family hates him, and many of his followers are pro abortion, anti gun, and hedonistic.

John McCain can't seem to stop compromising his positions, and his followers are jumping ship left and right.

Fred Thompson can barely remember anything he did in government, especially his more controversial votes. He also is unaware of happenings that are critical to the future of the US (the NAU).

That leaves us with Huckabee (a pastor). He will never win in states that have heavy blue population.
Tancredo and his single issue, in which I agree with him on.
Duncan Hunter - who can't stop giving anecdotes about his son and daddy, and ain't got a chance.
Brownback, who we can now officially call Brownnose.
and whoever else jumps on stage.

I am going for Ron Paul, because he is the only one who can smash those democrats.

"So comments like this disqualify your opinion."

that was his screen name, is basically full of it. It is outlandish he trashes Mormons and implies Romney only has Mormon support. This is bannable in my opinion.

I'm currently a Romney guy. I'll vote for Rudy. I'll vote for Fred. If by some chance Hunter or Huckabee gets nominated, I'll vote for either of them, too. I'll even, sigh, vote for McCain.

But Hillary is substantially less nutty than RonPaul (or Alan Keyes, for that matter).

Except I'm currently leaning towards Rudy.

Not sure if I could actually pull the lever for the Beast but am sure RP wouldn't get my vote. The WOT is my primary issue this election which puts RP in the Kusinich camp.

I look at the bright side of RP...the money he collects will go back into the economy.

The problem is this... People tend to flip on the box and believe what they hear. What they hear is what a group wants them to hear. Additionally, throw a bone here... throw a bone there...make it look like there is balance. Put an issue out there to divide while behind the scenes in the halls of power, little tweaks and turns are signed stealing what million died for to pass to us. I havnt foudn yet what was done last week in Washington while the media focused on the "JENA 6". When I do , Im sure I wont be happy..

I am in absolute awe at his inventions. He extra curricular writings on our young country -at that time- are simply amazing. How can anyone be so broad in thier thinking yet bring it down to a "Knats Behind" when necessary.. I so desire to be of the same calibre I constantly test my own self to the point of exhaustion... How, what... well, amazing.. no other words in my opine.
