The Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey Caucus

Friends,

Below the fold are the names and district office phone numbers of the dirty two dozen -- those 24 Republicans in the House and Senate who sided with the Democrats on the policy of defeat and surrender.

A couple of them, including Senators Warner and Hagel, are members of the Congressional Franco-American Caucus -- the French Lovers. That's pretty appropriate.

But, I think these members of the GOP should start a Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey Caucus. That'd be even more appropriate. All they need is a little initiative.

I would very much like it if every single one of you would call each of these dirty two dozen and ask if they might now be interested in starting a Congressional Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey Caucus in light of their vote to slowly bleed our troops to death and surrender our country into the hands of those who'd kill us all.

The names and phone numbers of the dirty two dozen are below the fold. Please start calling their district offices now.

that will definitely convey a sense of seriousness and professionalism to them.

In related news, Senator Clinton was curiously unmoved by demands posted in diaries at Dailykos that she surgically remove her kidneys to prove her bona fides in the health care debate. "Why doesn't Hillary trust the government to get her a transplant? If she thinks Hillarycare would work better than the free market, then let her put her kidneys where her mouth is!" the diary explained reasonably.

Righty don't surf, man. Righty don't surf.

So when we do, it unnerves them. Hey, it worked for Warner-Levin, didn't it?

He is a hypocrite on so many things its folly to pick out just that one.

This will work, assuming these congressmen are so hopped up on 'slow bleed' that they'll completely forget the transfusion that took place last November.

Trent Lott told us, "You can support the troops without supporting the President."

Kay Hutchison (R-TX)offered resolution number 35, and a number of Republicans Senators signed on. It read:

SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 35--RELATIVE TO BOSNIA
(Senate - December 13, 1995) [Page: S18565]

Mrs. HUTCHISON (for herself, Mr. Inhofe, Mr. Craig, Mr. Nickles, Mr. Kyl, Mr. Lott, Mr. Bennett, Mr. Brown, Mr. Burns, Mr. Campbell, Mr. Coats, Mr. D'Amato, Mr. Domenici, Mr. Faircloth, Mr. Frist, Mr. Grams, Mr. Hatch, Mr. Helms, Mr. Kempthorne, Mr. Murkowski, Mr. Pressler, Mr. Santorum, Mr. Shelby, Mr. Simpson, Mr. Smith, Mr. Stevens, Mr. Thomas, Mr. Thompson, and Mr. Thurmond) submitted the following concurrent resolution; which was considered and not agreed to:

S. Con. Res. 35
Resolved by the Senate (the House of Representatives concurring),

SECTION 1. EXPRESSING OPPOSITION TO THE DEPLOYMENT DECISION.
The Congress opposes President Clinton's decision to deploy United States military ground forces into the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina to implement the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its associated annexes.

SEC. 2 EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR UNITED STATES MILITARY PERSONNEL WHO ARE DEPLOYED.
The Congress strongly supports the United States military personnel who may be ordered by the President to implement the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its associated annexes.

SEC. 3. TRANSMITTAL OF RESOLUTION.
The Secretary of the Senate shall transmit a copy of this concurrent resolution to the President.

---------------------------------------------------------------

I think you folks who rail against the that would vote to oppose the President's policies are jingos' and hypocrits.

Good day.

Were there, or were there not, troops on the ground authorized by the Dayton Accords at the time this resolution was introduced?

Here's a hint: seeing how the Dayton Accords agreement wasn't signed until the day after the Senate Resolution was entered - and further considering that IFOR didn't deploy until a week later - it semes reasonable to assume there were not American ground forces yet deployed in a hostile environment under this agreement.

So, what's your point?

Oh, and you're likely going to be asked for a retraction on your last. Actually, "asked" is probably the wrong word.

Finally, I'm sure Trent said what you said he said - but a link or a cite would be helpful because your word on this matter ain't really worth much.

Bad day.

-------------
So libs, how's that Congressional Resolution to end The War™ coming along?

at the chronology of the deployment to Bosnia would show that US troops began arriving two days after this resolution.

More than a little difference that is apparent to even "jingos' {wtf is this?} and hypocrits" but is lost of marginally literate imbeciles.

http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=jingoes

Main Entry: jingo
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural jingoes
Etymology: from the fact that the phrase by jingo appeared in the refrain of a chauvinistic song
: one characterized by jingoism
- jin·go·ish /-ish/ adjective

The song in question, which was a music hall number popular in the 1870's:

Macdermott's War Song

The "Dogs of War" are loose and the rugged Russian Bear,
All bent on blood and robbery has crawled out of his lair...
It seems a thrashing now and then, will never help to tame...
That brute, and so he's out upon the "same old game"...
The Lion did his best... to find him some excuse...
To crawl back to his den again. All efforts were no use...
He hunger'd for his victim. He's pleased when blood is shed...
But let us hope his crimes may all recoil on his own head...

Chorus:
We don't want to fight but by jingo if we do...
We've got the ships, we've got the men, and got the money too!
We've fought the Bear before... and while we're Britons true,
The Russians shall not have Constantinople...

The misdeeds of the Turks have been "spouted" through all lands,
But how about the Russians, can they show spotless hands?
They slaughtered well at Khiva, in Siberia icy cold.
How many subjects done to death we'll ne'er perhaps be told.
They butchered the Circassians, man, woman yes and child.
With cruelties their Generals their murderous hours beguiled,
And poor unhappy Poland their cruel yoke must bear,
While prayers for "Freedom and Revenge" go up into the air.

(Chorus)

May he who 'gan the quarrel soon have to bite the dust.
The Turk should be thrice armed for "he hath his quarrel just."
'Tis said that countless thousands should die through cruel war,
But let us hope most fervently ere long it shall be o'er.
Let them be warned: Old England is brave Old England still.
We've proved our might, we've claimed our right, and ever, ever will.
Should we have to draw the sword our way to victory we'll forge,
With the Battle cry of Britons, "Old England and St George!"

(chorus)

It is noteworthy that while the chorus is known to a certain type of commenter, the actual song is not.

The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC.

I never knew the origin of the term. Its a shame that the song isn't better known it actually reads as quite uplifting.

I will have called them all. I won't call them "cheese eating surrender monkeys" because I don't want them to easily dismiss how furious I am at them.

I promise to be polite. I was raised to be a nice, polite, considerate person. But they're all going to hear from me in my polite, considerate way, what a bunch of traitors I think they are.

If email's your thing, here are their Congressional websites. Go to the site and use the form (it appears in various places on each website) to send the email. The whole list (House only) is posted atThe Minority Report

I got a very nice email from one of his assistants informing me that the Congressman does not prefer to respond by "electronic mail", and would I please provide my phone number and residential address?

Better to call I guess...or if you email, be sure to include your address or phone number.

Are you guys really willing to sacrifice Coleman, Collins, Hagel, and Warner over a non-binding resoulution? Don`t get me wrong, they`re not my favorite Senators to begin with, but are you really willing to give up control of the Senate for possibly another six-eight years on this? Will Senators Allen, Franken, the other Warner, and whoever the Dems can find to take on Hagel be any better? I can appreciate lines in the sand, but come on guys, do you really want to draw one on a non-binding resolution???

With drafting quality candidates to run against them in the primaries....

and I`ll jump on board. At this point, though, that`s not looking likely. As such, should we really be beating up on our all but certain nominees, all of whom voted to confirm both Alito and Roberts?

Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled, or hanged.

...I emailed my Congressman, Dr. Charles Boustany (R-LA), for an explanation of his "no vote" on the resolution.

He was in his district at a funeral on the day of the vote. He made remarks on the floor against the resolution; the text of those remarks is here.

“The American people deserve more from Congress – and by God, our troops deserve more from this Congress.”

I wrote Ron Paul on Monday to express my opinion about his brave VoteForSurrender and cc'd my county GOP chairman. I am told he cannot be recalled, but apparently the local party thinks it is time to replace him with a real Republican. Go figure; Ron Paul fluctuates between an L an I and an R, but a RINO is what best describes him.
