Last week the collapsing Russian kleptocracy carried out a bit of geopolitical theater by sending a submersible to the sea floor at the North Pole and planting a flag.

Naturally it was covered by the famed Reuters "news" service.

All was fine... until this:

News agency Reuters has been forced to admit that footage it released last week purportedly showing Russian submersibles on the seabed of the North Pole actually came from the movie Titanic.

[...]

But it has now emerged that the footage actually showed two Finnish-made Mir submersibles that were employed on location filming at the scene of the wreck of the RMS Titanic ship in the north Atlantic some 10 years ago.

With all the talk of liquidity crunches, I was scared that this article would be about a massive drop at the NYSE or something.

I'm glad to see this though. Reuters is always good to expose as a fraud.

TGIF....

Perhaps the subs were really looking for the famed "Heart of the Ocean" diamond which the Russians learned about in a captured Capitalist documentary in which a bourgeois elderly woman tosses said diamond into the ocean as a revolutionary statement.

Or perhaps the're still trying to find that "other" sub that rammed into the Kursk, causing its sinking (not a torpedo accident). Said sub also contains the Fountain of Youth and is captained by none other than the Real OJ killer.
