Welcome to the long, hot summer.

Meet the Press (NBC): Tim Russert hosts, and he'll open his show with the Pat Buchanan book tour (State of Emergency: The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America). PJB will holler about immigration and them Mexicans while Representative Luis Gutierrez (D-Illinois), chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus' Immigration Task Force, screams that lawbreakers can be good guests.

FOX News Sunday (FNS): Host Chris Wallace will preside over a discussion of everything "[f]rom energy to immigration" between Senators Diane Feinstein and Trent Lott. (Both support the lunatic immigration bill.)

Face the Nation (CBS): Host Bob Schieffer will chat with former New York Mayor Ed Koch; political consultant Ed Rollins; actor Sam Waterston (whose character will be replacing Fred's on Law and Order.)

This Week (ABC): Host George Stephanopoulos talks to the insufferable and incoherent Teddy Kennedy for a segment, then to Alabama Republican Senator Jeff Sessions. It's immigration again.

Late Edition (CNN): Host Wolf Blitzer talks to Senators Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas and Ron Wyden of Oregon, both oppose the immigration bill. Then he talks to the President of Vietnam, Nguyen Minh Triet, and his usual cast of thousands.

A lot of immigration stuff this week. I'm not certain about Koch and Rollins, but I assume Schief will ask Koch about Giuliani's Presidential run and Bloomberg's little ego-stroking-fest. I hope he asks Rollins about Minnesota. If they'd have stopped there at least once in the closing days, Mondale would have lost his home State and President Reagan would have won all 50. The left has divided this country too much, I fear, for such a feat to occur again.

I'll have the show-by-show review live here at RedState on Sunday afternoon.

He snagged the most effective spokesman for swaying moderate Democrats (the fence-sitters, so to speak) over to the pro-Z-visa side--Pat "Over-the-top" Buchanan. You just have to give Pat plenty of time to expand on what he means, and he drives people over to the other side.

As I said here, Rep. Gutierrez is holding a townhall meeting with Keith Ellison here in Minnesota. Here's what's happening at the meeting:

Join with MIRAc and members of our immigrant communities to demand these representatives work to put an end to the raids that are devastating our communities and demand they take a real stand for immigrant rights by supporting an unconditional legalization for all NOW!

MIRAc stands for MN Immigrant Rights Action Coalition. You'll want to read more about this group because they're a piece of work.

the existing laws. Rep. Gutierrez, if what you report is accurate, wants to stop enforcing the laws altogether.

Folks, the real enemy is not a man like Jon Kyl or John McCain; it's this fellow and Teddy Kennedy.

And I'm trying to focus a little on what I am typing while looking at an ad for t-shirts -- this one reads" Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms,: and I can't read all the rest because this lovely, young woman is lifting her shirt to bare part of her midriff.

Mercy!

McCain gets absolutely none. Zip. Nada. McCain prefers to work with the likes of Kennedy than within his own caucus. For my nickel McCain is the worst of the lot.
