Here's To All You "Way Too Cool To Be Conservative" Guys

You people make me sick.
Even my OWN guy in Tx-10, Michael "formerly known as Conservative" McCaul. Yep Mikey, you too.
Here I was, writing and calling and fighting...while you were all busying yourselves to hand out MY money in SPITE of how much you guys were told we were against it.
I know I know, this won't get you unelected or anything, and whatever it was that bought your votes on the Guam bill is likely of greater impact on your constituents, so I need to just shut up about it.
Well done!
To give credit where credit is due, let's make sure you get the recognition you so richly lust for:

More below the fold...
Apparently, the loons on the Left are right after all; you only listen to them...and to what may get a few votes. Conservatism IS dying in America, and is to be felled once and for all by a death of 2008 cuts.
I know I know it's ONLY $126MILLION dollars...what difference could this POSSIBLY make in the general scheme of things. I know I know, it's for a good cause-heck-people suffered in that war, and we agreed to let Japan off the hook for paying any damages for their evil. The THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of American lives paid for Guam's rescue really doesn't count.
I know I know, what on earth does this have to do with the slow death of Conservatism? I know I know, this is just way underneath the radar and has no bearing on today's political climate and tomfoolery in your Washington clubhouse.
See, here's the thing. I really do think the money is poorly spent, given our warfighters are being made to BEG for money to win a war the Left calls lost...at the VERY least, this bill is poorly timed. Ordinarily, I could care less generically because we have wasted far more money on far less "meaningful and compassionate" concerns.
The problem here is that our priorities are all screwed up, and a bigger problem is that far too many of us are just yawning. The Republicans listed above represent the biggest problem this party faces today: Political Expediency Kills.
Given an opportunity to stand together as a team against the Democrats, 66 freakin' Republicans jumped the chasm...and for what? Reparations for something that happened over 60 years ago? I am deeply sorry for what happened in Guam, and in Normandy, and even Berlin fergawdsakes...but, in the day of the Democrat downslide into despotism, these Republicans go blind to the need to stick together on EVERYTHING, big or small? Again...and FOR WHAT?
Oh yeah, and that Conservatism thing...will there NOT be a need for an office, a few execs, some admins, and some peeps to make sure the money is handed out correctly and to the people that have been duly vetted to ensure there is no fraud or abuse?
What the (expletive removed in deference to the posting guidelines) is wrong with you people?
Bipartisanship sounds ducky, but there is a time and place for it...and THIS WAS NOT IT.
Stand together AGAINST wasteful spending, and against feelgood political opportunism, fight for smaller Government and responsible spending, and for God's sake, stop trying to get along with the enemy.
The Democrats are, over in the Middle East. That strategy is going to get a LOT of people killed.
Stop this madness before it gets a whole lot worse. If you can't get that caucus together, there won't be a Republican OR a Conservative (currently mutually exclusive terms) to be found anywhere in public office.
Your enemies in Washington keep score, and they pay back. You need to remember that.
Oh yeah, AND you need to get over yourselves. SOME of your constituents keep score too...and WE pay back as well.

As a Hoosier I am ashamed that Mike Pence is the only Congressman from Indiana to vote against the bill. The rest of 'em voted for the bill, except for Mark Souder who did not vote.
You’re a persistent cuss, pilgrim.

Maybe I am just stupid, but for the life of me I cannot fathom why someone would vote to pay reparations for someone else's actions. Is there something I am missing here?

They have given in and drank the "How can the US boost world popularity" koolaid. Guilt, real or perceived, can lead to irrational behavior.

I sent the following email to my state's only Republican to support this bill. I doubt it will reach him. But I hope it does. I will never forget this traitorous and shameful vote.
***********
As an outspoken conservative student at the University of Georgia and Georgia voter, you and I normally agree on many issues. HR 1595 is not one of them. Your vote contradicted everything that conservativism stands for, including opposition to redistribution of income, patriotism, and the support of American lives lost to defend our own freedom and to spread God's gift of liberty elsewhere in the world. American lives are priceless--there is no greater love than this, than a man lay down his life for a friend. We gave the lives of American soldiers to give freedom to the people of Guam. Your vote to support HR 1595 says that those lives weren't enough. That money is more important to cover sins we didn't commit. Today, your vote brought shame onto the state of Georgia and the lives sacrificed for freedom in Guam.

This is depressing. How low can we go? I'd expect this from the Dems, but from a Republican Georgia Congressman? Absolutely PATHETIC.

my guy Sam Johnson TX - 03 knows what's what. I really didn't have any doubts that this bona fide war hero would do the right thing, but I wrote to him anyway. As usual, he didn't disappoint me.
I noticed that my former district rep. (FL -09 Bilirakis) supported it (even though it was his father Mike when I was living there. I don't think he would have supported it)
Before that I lived in IN - 03 (when Quayle was the rep) and Souder was a no-vote.
1- yae
1- nay
1- no vote
I wonder what made this such a difficult vote for conservatives. I don't really see any heart-rending issues on the other side of this.

Is on the good side once again. He may not be Mike Pence, but he seldom shames me for my vote and for that I am very grateful.
