An Exciting Day For One of Our Own
Unleash the Spam!

We knew this would happen one day. And that day has finally come. One of our own has been picked up by a Presidential campaign. That's right, our own Leon Wolf has been hired by Senator Brownback's campaign as his e-campaign coordinator (I use the term "hired" loosely, because he's doing it as a volunteer, i.e. read: for free).
Leon will now officially become a campaign spammer on behalf of his guy. We're thrilled for him. We should have a contest to see who sends out the most spam, Leon, Stephen Smith, Pat Hynes, or Patrick Ruffini!
So, that puts us in an interesting position. We are not going to toss Leon overboard. In fact, we really like Leon and want him to stick around. But, at the same time, we recognize that this puts us and him in an awkward position as far as Redstate goes. What we've decided is this:
Leon, like any other candidate's bloggers, is more than welcome to blog about his guy in the user blogs. But, we've requested, and Leon agrees, that his stuff related to the '08 races should not be on the front page -- we want him to be treated equal to what we'd do for other candidates' bloggers, but without any advantage.
So full disclosure from us. We're deeply proud of Leon. We want him to stick around. But we don't want his access to the front page to be seen as an unfair advantage to Senator Brownback's campaign. So, when writing about 2008, he's on equal footing with all the other campaign bloggers. This is new territory for us. There may be some bumps along the way, but we're really excited that one of our own would get such a tremendous opportunity.

I had a feeeeling...just a little wisp on an implication, mind you... ;)
Seriously, it makes me glad to know that Team Brownback™ has realized what an asset you'll be as a blogger. I don't mean to sound anything other than truthful when I say that he needs all of the good help he can get. And I'm looking forward to some constructive jousting with you over in the user blogs as I continue to talk about Mitt Romney. And no, I'm not yet an official anything for anybody except myself, TMR, and HinzSight -- and I'll be the first to let people know if that ever changes.
Congratulations and let's beat the Donks!
As someone who has gone toe-to-toe with Leon a bit about 08, I can say that Brownback made a good choice.
The other candidates have money, name recognition, and more free media. It`s about time Sen. Brownback gets something that they don`t have.
and RedState's policy makes a heckuva lot of sense. ______________________________________
