Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy One, Rosie O'Donnell Zero.

Oh, yeah, Rosie. It was so totally the 9/11 thing.

As Glenn Reynolds noted, our long national nightmare is over:

April 25, 2007 — Rosie O'Donnell is leaving "The View." ABC has been unable to come to a contractual agreement with "The View" co-host. As a result, her duties on the show will come to an end mid-June.

The president of daytime programming for the Disney-ABC Television Group, Brian Frons, told ABCNEWS.com, "Going in we knew we would have an amazing year with her, and that anything beyond that would be gravy. But we were willing to take the chance because we understood what a coup it was to entice Ro back to daytime television. So here we are a year later, and while we've tried to come to terms on a deal that would extend her co-hosting duties on 'The View,' we find ourselves unable to agree on some key elements."

The key...-est... element being, of course, whether or not the Two Towers was brought down by a government / Zionist / NWO / Reptoid / Elvite* conspiracy. At least, that's what the 'Truthers'*** will undoubtedly say.

Read on.

I will take this moment to link to Bill Whittle's latest - his latest is very relevant, very good, and (as usual) very, very long - before I note that the title of this piece is, of course, sarcasm. I have no real clue about whether or not O'Donnell was canned or quit; it's even possible that the press release masquerading as a news story is actually accurate. Hey, it has to happen some time.

I expect, however, that certain people will attempt to create a different narrative on this: one where O'Donnell was forced out for daring to speak her mind about the aforementioned evvvvillll conspiracy. I look forward to it, actually. For one thing, the folks who'll be spouting it are usually also in opposition to me on a variety of other causes, and it never hurts to have dumb(redacted) arguing against you. For another, there's something aesthetically pleasing about a really, really good conspiracy ranter. And, of course, there's the fact that my Bilderbergian Tri-lat neocon Templar masters expect me to enthusiastically support this sort of thing, so I do.

Gimme a break. The dental plan has no copay.

Moe

*A conspiracy of Elvii**, of course.

**That's the plural of "Elvis", obviously. I don't have to explain who Elvis was, surely?

***'Truthers'. 'Brights'. 'Reality-based community'. Some of these guys seem to need just the tiniest bit of self-reinforcement, nu?

But I will be willing to bet that Rosie has a show of her own soon. (She has no ownership interest in the vue) Also her antics were meant to facilitate her leaving the the Vue.

The fact that she managed to infuriate people she doesn't like was probably just gravy for her.

the comment about how 'one square' was inadequate for someone with her grandiose posterior cracked me up - and it was the end. Alexander... wept for there were no more worlds to conquer.

We are all heroes, you and Boo and I. Hamsters and rangers everywhere, rejoice!

to take any conspiracy theorists seriously, especially this ridiculous hag. But she really is just one of four panelists and Barbara Walters offers a good counterpoint to her ridiculous rants. I just turned The View on today to catch her announcement and I can honestly say that was the first time I'd watched 10 minutes of the show. I can see it's simply fodder for soccer moms and most probably see through Rosie's ridiculousness. BillO is going to have a field day tonight. It'll be interesting to see who they replace her with.

How is Baba a counterpoint? The same Barbara Walters who cozies up to Hugo Chavez and his merry band of socialist thugs? Is Far Left really a counterpoint to Far Leftier?

As for the audience seeing through Rosie's ridiculous rants, it's possible the TV viewers are just slowing down to watch the traffic accident, but the studio audience is rabidly supportive of every moronic utterance.

in the sense of rationality. Perhaps not in ideology, but Walters isn't saying George Bush killed 3000 Americans. She's an intelligent and seasoned journalist, which is far more than can be said of the hack Rosie. From the clips I've seen Walters corrects Rosie whenever she goes off on a ridiculous tangent.

And yes, the studio audience eats it up. But I think the average viewer can dismiss Rosie's crazy accusations.

My guess is that The View tries to retain "balance" on the panel by adding Cynthia McKinney as Rosie's replacemement.

I am certain Revs. Sharpton and Jackson will demand her addition.

Maybe it'll be Ann Coulter.

That would be fun to watch if Rose was still there.

not that I regularly watch, but I had to tune in this a.m. to see if RO went off....she was rather mild, but watching Babs go off and rant because she had to wait last night when walking home, at a corner road block in NY because of an approaching motorcade w/GWB...... get a clue, Babs

Dateline NYC Breaking News

ABC announced today that the KEY element that precluded a renewal of Mz. O'Donnell's contract to Co-host "The View" was the networks refusal to do a leveraged takeover of The Krispy Kreme Donut Kompany.
An ABC insider said on condition that he remain annonymous,"ABC is not in the business of glazing donuts,Not for Rosie,Not for anyone. We're a serious News and entertainment company."
This same source confirmed that Mz. O'Donnell has been in talks with the ACME building demolition company to act as "The Face" for an upcoming advertising campaign.
A spokesperson for ACME B.D.C. reached by telephone confirmed this by saying that Rosie would be acting as a company spokesperson because "You've heard of a face that could launch a thousand ships.......?
Mz. O'Donnell will be replacing current ACME spokescritter Mr. W. E. Coyote.

"You never need a firearm, until you need it BADLY!"

but it's no coincidence that this news comes during the same week that she emceed the Matrix Awards, which praises New York's most accomplished women in the media. She dropped F-bombs and made base, obscene jokes despite the attenance of 17 high school girls. During a rant about Donald Trump, O’Donnell grabbed her crotch and shouted an obscenity, leaving Barbara Walters to lower her head and cover her face with her hand. It appears that the Imus effect is still in play.

Poor, long-suffering Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Rosie used the liberal NY crowd to bully her around any time she offered an independent viewpoint. She's free for a while, anyway.

When Castro's gal recounted to The View watchers that she was stopped from crossing a street this morning by two policewomen. The View Emcee imperiously demanded "Do You Know Who I Am?] Answers welcome.

But I interrupt myself. Baba went on to ask the copettes who the motorcade was for. When Bush came back as the answer, she said "Does he think he's a king?" [She may have got that from her boy-toy Sen. Reid, who said that when asked about Bush vetoing the Iraq Funding Bill Reid previously promised he would never tinker with]

Methinks the answer to who BaBa is is obvious.....

[And I wonder if she was peeved when Billy Jeff made one of his bi-weekly visits to NYC.......?]

she was on it and I have no plans to ever watch the view after she leaves it. I have heard that she isn't the only leftist on the show however just by seeing her on the news I'm sure she was the loudest liberal. I just don't want too see her, Alec Baldwin, nor Anna Nicole on the news anymore there are to many important issues going on in the world

I love how polite Bonaduce is to the people having lunch, and then biting this guys head off (and well deservedly).
