Democrats' Fiscal Responsibility Video Is Laughable

Hypocrisy politics

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D.-Md.) wants you to believe that Democrats have brought fiscal responsibility back to Washington. Here's what he doesn't want you to know:

• The Democrats' budget amounts to the largest tax increase in history.
• The Democrats' budget ignores the entitlement crisis facing Social Security and Medicare.
• The Democrats' budget is full of pork-barrel projects and skirts earmark transparency.

I could go on, but I wouldn't want to embarrass Hoyer any more than I already have. The next time he releases a video boasting about "Republican hypocrisy" he should look in the mirror.

We obviously have the dumbest Republicans in the history of the Congress in that they don't see this as a real battle issue. Instead, they join in on the Porkfest.

The Culture of Corruption is an incredible plank if only they would be honest about it and poke holes in it. Newty did it and he won - before he lost, that is.

"The $23 billion that the House has added to the budget is set to become part of the permanent discretionary spending baseline. Over ten years, this addition could cost American taxpayers $276 billion, or $2,400 per household. The House Democrats' reversal on earmark transparency suggests that most, if not all, of this new spending will go towards replenishing the ...

reductions in pork-barrel spending that began last year and were set to continue this year."

so, the GOP actually did something fiscally conservative last year ?

don't get me wrong, it wasn't enough; but it's obvious who has the long term security and economic interests of the US in mind, the other side must think the answers are peace, love and never ending pocketbooks of the people.

Politicians of both parties are shamefully fiscally irresponsible because they know that voters are ignorant and the media won't expose them, which means that seriously addressing our huge long-term fiscal problem will lose them their next election.
