House GOP Goes on the Offensive

House Republican leaders today released a 59-page report, "Death by a Thousand Cuts: Democrats' War on American Jobs," charging the Democrat majority in Congress with proposing legislation that threatens millions of U.S. jobs. The GOP leadership also unveiled a website devoted to this issue.
House Minority Leader John Boehner is leading the effort in tandem with Whip Roy Blunt, Conference Chairman Adam Putnam and Chief Deputy Whip Eric Cantor. The report comes two days after the Republican Study Committee released a similar policy paper, "The 110th Congress Is Bad for Business," which documented how business interests have been under attack since Democrats took control in January. The RSC's chairman, Rep. Jeb Hensarling, had this to say about leadership's new report:
The 110th Congress is bad for business, specifically small businesses that are the job creating machine of the American economy. Democrats’ continued attempts to force policies that raise taxes, increase costs, and expand regulations are outright hostile to businesses and, therefore, employees, families, consumers, the stock market, and the economy as a whole.
Since January, Democrats have authorized bills that would raise taxes, on average, by over $4000 on every taxpaying citizen. They have increased federal spending by nearly a trillion dollars over 11 months – a pace that is three times faster than the average American family’s ability to pay for it.
Pay attention to how the Democrats respond to this line of attack -- coming not just from conservatives, but from the entire House GOP caucus as well. I suspect, given the Democrats' all-time low approval ratings, they'll be very sensitive to the charges. The Republicans' message should certainly resonate back home, and if it sticks, it could be a bright spot for them heading into 2008.

Republican's will always be smarter than dems.
When we're in office we max out the credit and force them to wasted there terms paying it back.
Then we get to clobber them in the next election.
Because it would do them no good, because nobody outside of our little community of informed political junkies will ever hear about this.
They'll just continue to demagogue, with no effective refutation.
The naive forgive and forget.
The foolish forget but do not forgive.
The wise forgive but do not forget.
