McCain & Frist Demand Apology

First from John McCain:

Senator Kerry owes an apology to the many thousands of Americans serving in Iraq, who answered their country's call because they are patriots and not because of any deficiencies in their education. Americans from all backgrounds, well off and less fortunate, with high school diplomas and graduate degrees, take seriously their duty to our country, and risk their lives today to defend the rest of us in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. They all deserve our respect and deepest gratitude for their service. The suggestion that only the least educated Americans would agree to serve in the military and fight in Iraq, is an insult to every soldier serving in combat, and should deeply offend any American with an ounce of appreciation for what they suffer and risk so that the rest of us can sleep more comfortably at night. Without them, we wouldn't live in a country where people securely possess all their God-given rights, including the right to express insensitive, ill-considered and uninformed remarks.

Then from Senator Frist:

Senator Kerry clearly owes an apology to our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines serving in Iraq. But Mr. Kerry has refused to do so. Instead, he’s claiming that Republicans are “desperately distorting” his comments. Watch the video yourself … it is perfectly clear what Mr. Kerry said … what’s unclear is whether Mr. Kerry ever means what he says. Perhaps he was against his comments before he actually made them.

And Senator Kerry is falsely claiming that Republicans “love to attack those who did [serve in war].” The truth is that Senator Kerry served honorably in Vietnam over 35 years ago, but he’s not immune from criticism today. Republicans aren’t “questioning his patriotism,” but we are calling him on his slur of our troops in the field.

either breaks and apologizes, or breaks and reveals himself as a total nut.

There's a week left, so there's time to just keep hammering Kerry and hammering Dems about what their party advocates. They hide behind a lot of things in order to hide their record of being against the troops.

If you support the troops, you support the mission they're accomplishing in Iraq. If you don't support the Iraq war, then you're not supporting the troops. The anti-American Dems who "support the troops" and oppose the War are still close to the people who spit on troops.

Now's the time to remind people of the anti-troop comments by Kerry, by Murtha, and by the Democrat Party.

They can't handle the truth and they're a bunch of paper tigers.

for his comments.

he he.

And Senator Kerry is falsely claiming that Republicans “love to attack those who did [serve in war]...something he certainly would know something about from his days as a protestor of the Vietnam War.

There's this movie everyone's talking about "No Substitute for Victory: from Vietnam to Iraq". Originally "No Substitute for Victory" was a documentary hosted by Jon Wayne released when during war in Vietnam. Now this film is re-released on a DVD and examines out current conflicts in the Middle East as seen through the scope of history from our previous conflict in Vietnam. It has exclusive modern day interviews. I think it will be an excellent source of vital information and entertainment! You should check it out!

check out a DVD called OBSESSION it’s a fascinating insight into our enemy I think you'll enjoy!

Kerry's comments are good for reminding everyone about who stands to benefit if the Dems take the Senate, and to that extent it's good if it helps motivate the base. But the focus needs to remain on the Dems on the ballot this cycle, and what they've done and said, because that's the task at hand.

Whether Kerry served honorably is at the very least debatable. As for "questioning his patriotism," Patriots do not EVER slur soldiers. Senator Kerry has built his career on doing so.

for a good 20 years after Vietnam

Frankly, I'm surprised he's willing to shake it now.

Still, existence is a learning experience, so here's a lesson in Life 101 for His Brahmin Highness:

The honor of your service then (Vietnam) does not justify your behavior since. Deal with it.

who observed, "There are no mistakes."

I think Senator Kerry's comments are a rare, candid window into an elitist's true character. Reminiscent, if memory serves, of WJC's "I loathe the military" line from his 1960's letter declining the direct military commission it turned out he no longer needed.

Folks like Kerry and Clinton, so full of themselves, basically believe they are better than the masses...and it's the average Joe, in their mind, who does military service.

Oh, and in the words of Leona Helmsley, "Only little people pay taxes."

Bellinghamster

It must be true, because that line was spoken in "Love Story" by a Harvard grad. Kerry probably concurs, academically speaking.
