Obama's Outrage Offsets
Or, Ooo.

As Tom Maguire and Reverse Spin note, how droll. During an otherwise like-punching-fog story about how close Senator Obama sailed to the wind in his campaign contributions we find this gem:
Even so, the stock purchases raise questions about how he could unwittingly come to invest in two relatively obscure companies, whose backers happen to include generous contributors to his political committees. Among those donors was Jared Abbruzzese, a New York businessman now at the center of an F.B.I. inquiry into public corruption in Albany, who had also contributed to Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a group that sought to undermine John Kerry’s Democratic presidential campaign in 2004.
[Emphasis... everybody's, really.]
So what, I hear you ask? Let Reverse Spin explain:
What makes this so satisfying is that Obama a few days earlier upbraided another Swift contributor, St. Louis businessman Sam Fox, President Bush’s nominee for Ambassador to Belgium. Along with John Kerry, Obama gave Fox the third degree for daring to contribute to such a negative political action committee.
[snip of quoted text.]
And Obama tied a nice bow around the whole afternoon by basically calling Fox, who spent the entire time disavowing any knowledge of the Swift Boaters’ mission or methods, a liar.
[snip of quoted text.]
Someone ought to ask Barack if he grilled his own contributor, Mr. Abbruzzese, about his contribution to the evil Swifties.
Of course, what dancurry doesn't grok is that there's no need for Mr. Abbruzzese to explain. Ten grand worth of indulgences won't let you get away with murder, but it'll cover heresy quite nicely.
You know, we might take the Left's accusations of various Republican perfidy a lot more seriously if there was any real indication that they were taking said accusations seriously at all...

PS: For those who want to keep on about [my obvious approval of] the Swift Boaters, let me ask you: will $20 dropped into your PayPal accounts shut any of you up on the subject? Permanently, I mean? A bit low, perhaps, but then it's not like any of you guys are United States Senators or anything...

that we can be completely unaware of a $50,000 asset?
