OK, let's cut to the chase.

As we all know, House Democrats are throwing everything they can think of into their cut-'n-run defense appropriations bill in order to get their progressive peeps on-board (and isn't that a weird thing to write, particularly when it's Pelosi doing it). Liz Mair (H/T Captain Ed*) notes that we're down to spinach subsidies, God help us all. Anyway, can we skip the usual dance and have said progressive peeps just write out what their price is? We're get pretty close to game time here.
No, you can't have 'end the war now'. If the Democratic leadership was going to give that to you, it would have done so by now. What else do you want? Pelosi rather badly needs to know: what will it take to get the progressives to sell out?
What? I thought you guys were big on reality. This is reality: your principles aren't important enough to the Democrats to be worth more than lip service, but your Congressional votes have a bit more pull. Your Party wants to know: what are you willing to trade for them?

My constituents have given me a mandate. A mandate that I must follow. ...stony stares from the Mother in Law... Since that ain't happenin', would you please throw me a few billion to buy them off with? Yeah, we'll call it farm subsidies. Thanks, man. I promise, it's for a good cause.
I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful 100 percent.
you see all too clearly.
Odd that the buying of votes is not worth a mention in the MSM though...
