So The House Will Have Its Investigation . . .

But does anyone actually believe that an investigation regarding the shenanigans that surrounded the motion to recommit the agriculture bill will really amount to anything or bring about any kind of positive changes? By all accounts, Republicans won the vote. If they want to bring the business of the House to a halt in order to insist that their victory be respected, no one can really blame them, can they?

The real impact of a special investigative committee is enormous.
The last two of these were for a) Iran-Contra and b) Watergate.
Now the important aspect:
THE MINORITY GETS SUBPOENA POWER!!!
This is major and it is a structure that now exists so that future issues of irregularity can be referred to it. If the Democrats fail to do that repeatedly, we make a big deal over that.
This is the slow bleed effect that Hoyer signed off on.
Now if we could just summon the will to harp on that 24/7 365, we would have filibuster majorities in both houses in 2009.

intellectual bankruptcy that the Dem party has descended to. What has produced the appeasers, socialists, and desire to pay citizens tax dollars to illegals.
I propose we investigate it in 2008 and discover the cure to be that they be removed from power with veto proof GOP majorities and the third GOP pres term in a row.
