The Democrats have told the Republicans they are abandoning their deal on earmarks. They'll now shut down debate and they will hide their earmarks in conference reports, making them not up for debate or exposure.
Where is the Dem's chief porker right now while this is going on?
At this moment, David Obey is meeting in his office with a lobbyist there to discuss higher education. He has several other lobbyists waiting in his office at this very minute.
