Ben Cardin (D-Baltimore)
Steele Gets Maryland Issues. Cardin Only Gets Baltimore Issues

One of the meta-issues in Maryland is the Baltimore v. The Rest of Us issue. It plays into everyone's thinking.
The area around Washington, DC is the most populous part of Maryland, yet most of the state's elected leadership comes from Baltimore. The rest of the state gets ignored.
In the debate between Michael Steele and Ben Cardin two days ago, Michael Steele totally knocked out Ben Cardin by showing Cardin does not understand Maryland issues, only Baltimore issues. Couple that with the lack of enthusiam of minority voters for Cardin and you have Cardin's Achilles Heel.
Here's what everyone has been buzzing about. It also explains why Cardin dropped out of the NAACP debate.

Steele as well and I love his ads, very unorthodox but effective, IMO.
This has been a good week for MD, I was shocked to see the Post back Ehrlich and bash Cardin. Even they can easily see the incompetence of Cardin and O'Malley.
I'm anxious to see the next non-partisan poll on this race. If it's good news for Steele, that could really be a springboard to some heavy momentum going into election day.
I watched this debate and he came across as just a solid guy. Great communications skills. Loved the point he made about Cardin saying he represented change but had been in Washington for 20 years.
I would just love to see Steele win. He's an excellent candidate and an actual conservative. He's done everything right in his race which can't be said for other Republican Senate candidates. If Steele weren't running in Maryland, he'd win this race going away. Ben Cardin is a terrible candidate.
On the front page of the washington post is a new poll
O`malley 55
Ehrlich 45
cardin 54
steele 43
So like i said my state is to blue to elect a republican. In fact steele is only getting 15% of the black vote, unless the
black population stays home it will be the same old story in MD. this year.electing democrata!
Good heavens, man. Read the internals.
Or, read the debunking of the internals.
Or, learn to be a better moby.
Your choice.
This is a typical WaPo DNC push-poll - nothing more.

For two days in a row the Washington Post has been on the Republican's side. They've bashed cardin on not knowing the DC suburbs (an area that Dems need to win in MD) and endorsed Ehrlich for reelection. Whats in the water at the Post.
Steele really has momentum on his side and this race could be the suprise election in the country. Cardin even skipped a debate last night because of how bad he did the day before.
Polling note:
Survey USA, which was the only major poll that had the dem primary correct, has Steele and Cardin in a dead heat 46% to 46%
