Dangerous Debbie

Our good friends in the Michigan Republican Party have prepared a small video about Debbie Stabenow. Using her own record and her own poster that she displayed on the floor of the Senate, they effectively question her competence. You can see the video here:

But I hate to see campaigns run via "I'm the better candidate because my opponent [fill in the blank]."
I don't want reasons to vote Against people. I want reasons to vote FOR people.

on some occasions, for example 'Smokin Cindy' McKinney, Tom 'Puff-Daddy' Daschle, and William '$90K in Freezer' Jefferson, if you are the contender for their spot, I would think that your opponent's incompetence/malfeasance is a substantial part of the equation. Not sure Dimwit Debbie quite rises to the level of those guys.

Your point is taken, but I think if the overall campaign thoroughly covers the 'Why you should vote for me' aspect, and I think it has, then the potshot of this nature is fine.

The Dallas Cowboys will make the playoffs and thrive there in spite of dragging around the big smelly dead mackerel which is terrell owens

The animation looks kind of high-school-ish, compared to something like the DSCC's anti-Steele ad. And if you don't know that she actually put up a sign saying "Dangerously Incompetent", it looks like we were the ones lame enough to put up a fake sign and dub over.

I don't see this winning the hearts and minds. Doubt it would hurt, though.

I hope they didnt pay for this and I really hope they arent paying for media time to actually run this as a serious commercial. If so I guess it seems you dont need much talent these days to do well in the political advertising biz.

I've got to say it. Please forgive me in advance.
