In the inter-blog competition to call voters and get them to the polls, RedState Readers have called twice as many people as our next closest competitor.

But we can't rest on our laurels. Let's keep calling.

Here's the link. Go start calling.

The weekend is a great time to call.

So, Get On The Phone.

I like to think I have a nice voice and pleasant personality. My wife has listened to my GOTV phone pitch, and she says it sounds very polite and respectful.

I've hung it up on GOTV calls for the night. I know what happy people sound like. And trust me--the folks I've spoken to tonight were NOT happy that I called.

Is there a risk we might actually turn people off with all this calling?

Do we know for sure that this barrage of GOTV calls really works? Or, is the GOP pushing this because it's the easiest way for voters to get involved.

Lastly...and most important...any tips on how to make these calls in a way that doesn't peeve the person on the other end of the line?

I still have nine GOTV call sheets left. So, I'm eager for any suggestions you may have.

Friday evening is a rough time, people winding down from work or getting ready to go out. Afternoon this weekend will be prime time in my opinion. Avoid dinner time or other family time, as you are interrupting the key voters.

I am sure you are doing fine. If you are in Texas 22, I would suggest tomorrow afternoon. If the Aggies are up big at halftime on Oklahoma, I bet anyone will happy as clams on the phone and might be your target time to make a few calls. Heck, if it's Aggies 35 - OU 0, I bet some people might even talk to Kerry himself, though I doubt it.

Good luck up there, we will be sending Ron Paul back down here.

NEVER disparage my beloved Oklahoma Sooners here again.

And OU wins it big tomorrow.

I'd say keep calling and keep on being pleasant. I think it's probably better if they're a little annoyed but will vote, then not get called at all and forget.

I've often found that I'll get groups in batches. I'll get a bunch of really positive people, then some people that sound very busy or are negative, and then a bunch voice mail messages.
