"I Like Football and I Like Girls"

Harold Ford finally fesses up to swinging with Playboy Bunnies in Florida.
Just how bad off is the Ford campaign? In addition to being behind in two new polls today, Harold had to release a new ad on Bob Corker's turf. Harold had to go on TV and accuse Bob of saying bad things about Harold's family.
Well, Bob didn't, but I will:
Harold's father was booted from Congress because of ethics issues.
Harold's uncle tried to position himself as the king maker in Tennessee politics, only to see the FBI have real issues with him.
Harold's brother, Jake, is trying to run for Harold's seat as a write in candidate because he and Harold are incensed that a white jewish guy got the Democratic nomination for the district. So, Harold won't endorse the Democrat in the race and Harold's brother is running as a write in with Harold's support. The only problem is the younger Ford's arrest record. How dare anyone point that out.
How am I doing, Harold? Did I forget anyone?

instead of let the issue fester forever.
he looks and sounds defeated in that clip...perhaps he's just tired.
Harold's brother is trying to run for Harold's seat as a write in candidate because he and Harold are incensed that a J-E-W got the Democratic nomination for the district.
Harold Ford Jr. has not supported his brother's candidacy, so far as I can tell. Now, dad on the other hand . . .
particularly with the bizarre "I like girls" comment and focus. The Democrats rode this tiger with Mark Foley, Larry Craig, and an invisible congresman who allegedly had a thing for 16-year-old girls, didn't they? Then again, the Dems often ride the tiger on other issues and forget that the same rule applies, if not in the MSM but in the real world, to them.
As far as the Ford family, it seems Jr. has gotten a break from the local media given what I saw when I worked on contract in the Memphis area. Friends down there tell me that some of the things said by the the other Ford's campaign about Steve Cohen, the Democratic Party's nominee to replace Ford, are shamelessly anti-Semtiic.
Perhaps it is true justice that Jr. destroyed himself with the psychotic episode at the Corker presser and didn't have to rely on his family to do the honors.

I haven't found a good link that states his reason for going against his earlier statement that he would support the Democratic candidate that won the primary. But this article in Time suggests it is related to Cohen's race and religion...

I don't get the "I like girls" remark.
He's just saying, "I'm a single guy, and not a monk."
I don't get the "football" part, though. Was he accused of not liking football? Was he accused of liking baseball better?
These are important issues, and I'm glad he's focusing on them.

when put on the defensive and taken off his script.
does that mean I can be Senator from Tennessee?

This post crystalized it for me. This campaign and most of the dems are running because they are entitled to the positions and the majority. It explains the campaign and a very good portion of the democratic party attitude. They are just so much better than the rest of us how dare we question them or presume to take a hand in our own affairs.
Welcome to the club. Liberals are simply entitled to govern -- get with the program.

I can't find any fault in liking football and girls. Heck I could throw in Beer and Pizza as well.
