Well, a black faced Lieberman didn't bother the left, I guess this will fly by too. At least they fired her, but this seems to be a little more widespread than just one staffer in the Cardin campaign.
A blog has apparently led to the firing of a staffer in the Ben Cardin for Senate campaign.
According to the Washington Times Insider Politics blog, a person labeling herself the 'Persuasionatrix' wrote that she was on the staff of a high profile, contested Senate campaign and was based in Baltimore.
Persuasionatrix wrote that staffers should pose holding Oreo brand cookies under the caption 'devouring the competition.'
Cardin, the ten-term white Congressman from the Baltimore area, is the Democratic candidate facing black Lieutenant Governor and Republican candidate Michael Steele.Read on . . .
There have been claims since Steele ran for lieutenant governor in 2002 that hecklers either showed or threw Oreo cookies during a debate in Baltimore. The cookies are small chocolate sandwiches with a middle filling of white icing. They have been used to symbolize black politicians and others critics believe are 'white' in their issue or cultural positioning despite black appearance.
The Cardin staffer also allegedly posted statements on her blog about not being able to fire a subordinate whose performance was inadequate because the junior worker was black.
She supposedly wrote that the 'racism card hovers constantly' because her candidate was 'older, established and white' while his opponent was 'a dynamic, younger African American.' Persuasionatrix said that 'card' prevented the dismissal of the black worker.

maybe I'll follow the Cardin campaign around and toss saltines at him. I'm sure the yahoos he employs would get a chuckle out of it... at least as much as any white guy can get out of calling someone an Oreo.
...giving us a physical description of Oreos. Never would have made the connection, otherwise.

...these days, in 2006, that punishes the "property" who escape the plantation? The plantation name starts with "D".
