Sherrod Brown Bailed on His Children

How typical of liberals to talk about doing things for "the children," but when it comes to their own kids, they treat them like crap -- abandoning them and refusing to pay their child support.

Sherrod Brown did that, going so far as to fight to stop paying child support for one child as soon as she turned 18. What a great birthday present to have your dad decide to stiff you. No doubt, though, as a liberal he did it for the children.

Erick, I don't see why we as Republicans need to join the Democrats in the gutter of nasty personal attacks on the private lives of opposing politicians. Based on that link, I see a mutually bitter divorce in which both parents behaved nastily. I don't know Sherrod Brown, I have no idea what truth, if any, there is to either side's allegations in that case, and ultimately it's not any of my business.

For all we know, Sherrod has taken the child support he had been paying and putting into a college trust fund for his daughter rather than continue to pay it to his wife. Was the daughter about to move out of the mother's house? Perhaps he was going to take over the rent for her new digs in college, and no longer needed to keep paying child support to the mother. Or perhaps he's a complete heel. I don't know. But it's personal, not political, and we don't need to descend into that gutter.

"Eighteen, or when you start college" is when almost all child support orders terminate, and this is just poorly-sourced, irrelevant mudslinging.

I mean, really, this is the best you've got against Brown? What ever happened to attacking liberals for being liberals?

just poorly-sourced, irrelevant mudslinging.
This is worse:

Ohio's going ugly...

I think Strickland's record is too liberal for Ohio but they're going to alienate people with what they are saying about him and the aide. This is a disappointment. I hope no voters stay home and cause losses lower on the ticket.

Very unfortunate. I think ceasing child support payments when the kid turns 18 or graduates high school is usually the way it works, no? According to this, one of the reasons for Brown's late entry into the race was the wedding of the daughter you discuss, Emily, and as far as I can tell he seems to have a good relationship with her, so hopefully those kids (well, adults now, I guess -- 24 and 22 years old?) are ok despite the obvious animosity between him and his ex-wife.

The guy is hopelessly liberal. That's all the voters need (or should need) to know.

Still hoping for a DeWine miracle in Ohio.
