I will confess that I thought after tonight, Hillary Clinton would be a goner. We all heard that Barack Obama was making huge gains in both Ohio and Texas and for all I know, if the race were held a few days later, he might have won it.
But it was not held a few days later. It was held on Tuesday night and Hillary Clinton won. As Brother Lane makes clear in his own inimitable way, Hillary Clinton's wins in Texas and Ohio will only serve to prolong the fight for the Democratic nomination. This will exhaust the candidates, exhaust their resources and make it that much harder for Democrats to eventually unite for the fall campaign. Meanwhile, Republicans will have time to coalesce around John McCain, who won the nomination by sweeping through Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island and Vermont. A united Republican party now looks to be more and more a likelihood. As for the Democrats . . . well . . . see the title of this post.
If Emperor Palpatine was around, he would advise both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to let the hate flow through them and let it nourish them. They will have little problem doing so; it is clear that neither Clinton nor Obama like one another. Lightsabers will be lit anon. And hands are gonna get cut off in the duel.

...this is gonna be good.
The Clinton and Obama camps are going after each other while the candidates themselves are trying to remain civil in much the same way that Dr. Strangelove had to restrain his spontaneous arm movements. Obama's supporters seem about ready to throw Austan Goolsbee under the bus and bring the lawyers in on Ohio, while simultaneously saying that the Clinton team are crybabies for wanting the lawyers involved in Texas. The rhetoric is about moving forward, while the tacticians are trying to figure out how to eke out a fiery victory that is likely to turn Pyrrhic.
Somewhere in Sonoma, John McCain must be smiling.

But the hate would still flow...and it would build.... I can't see Hillary based on what she has done before not letting hate build...and build...and build.
It is just lovely to watch. I'm watching Fox with Karl...they're going to start the hits on Obama build, and build and build. The 3 AM Commercial has worked...and experience as lacking as she has has worked against Obama. She is dying to win this. But, she will be sliced when coming across McCain.

The boy Democrats knew as Barack Obama is no more, consumed by Darth Vader ::dooo do dooo do de do, do de do, dooo dooo dooo do de do, do de do::

Sorry, but I really think that should be our song. Bringing doom to Democrat's stupid dream of stealing from others (but not themselves) to give to others.
By the way, I'm short a lightsaber, can you lend a hand.

I play all my Star Wars games as the Sith, and nothing makes me happier in Star Wars Jedi Knight Academy than when I get to decide to join the Dark Side of the Force.

But, honestly, the snowspeeders (if there were enough) would have kicked the AT-AT's butts.
I guess I need to pick up Jedi Knight Academy. Still stuck on Battlefront II - wow, I always imagined playing as a snowspeeder in Hoth as a kid. And now I get the chance.
Oh, by the way, "Hillary is going on, going strong and going all the way." Can't get kicked out as a threadjack...hmmm, too bad that statement doesn't get me at all excited.
Erik
I like to play Galactic Conquest mode as the Sith, because playing as Darth Vader and Palpatine, well, theres nothing really anything more a Star Wars geek can ask for in life.

I got into Battlefront I for awhile, but I haven't played a SW game since SW Galaxies jumped the shark. Aside from (maybe) NCAA Football, it was the best video game I'd ever played, until they did the final "enhancements." Truly awesome, it was.

Hmm, troubling times I see. If the Sith Lord and the Sith Knight unite, what will the future hold?
Ok, the Jedi will hold the line...easily. The evil turn upon each other everytime.

it is ALL about electability now.
Must read for those into American politics!!!!
I found some brilliant/awesome analysis on Obama’s current happenings on the campaign trail. I haven’t seen anything like this mentioned anywhere in the MSM.

Actually, from the exit polling, it looks like HRC would have benefited from more time. Late-deciding voters (those who decided in the last few days) were going for Hillary about 2 to 1. In fact, Obama's gains probably stopped some time over the weekend and the momentum there started flowing back to Clinton.
The bubble may be bursting on Barrack. Hillary has taken the momentum and now has a proven gameplan. She did some things in TX that enabled her to turn the tide there, coming back from what appeared to be an Obama lead of a few points. She did some things in OH that enabled her to stave off Obama. That will form the basis for how she goes forward into PA and NC. And PA is demographically more akin to OH than to TX - and HRC won big in OH (12 points last time I saw numbers roll across the screen).
