And They Sang a New Song*

Seriously, there's literally no evidence that the media is in the tank for Obama. Stop being paranoid.

Ladies and gentlemen, according to the AP, the world has welcomed an Obama win.

The world.

“He has a very appealing persona — elegant, fluent, strings lots of sentences together into paragraphs.”

What's the basis for this? Well, uh, for one thing, he is black and has childhood friends in Asia. For another he, he, well, he puts sentences together into paragraphs! And he, he, he was an average third grade student (a man of the people!). And he's, he's, like a mixture of MLK and JFK (who were like Christ, only cooler and had more women)! And how do we know these things? Because an AP reporter has found an assortment of random foreigners saying these things, that's how.

If you can make it through this entire piece without getting physically ill, you're a better person than I am. And don't even suspect that this is the worst piece of hagiography we'll see from a major news media outlet this election season: we're in for a long, hard slog over the next five months, and it's going to fall to us to try and inject some objectivity in our communities and workplaces. Get ready, and brace yourselves.

*For the benefit of our lefties, I'm quoting Rev. 5:9.

The same AP shamelessly passing Obama press releases as raw news all day yesterday.

What a bunch of maroons.

In Mexico City, hairdresser Susan Mendoza's eyes lit up when she learned Obama had clinched the nomination.
"Bush was for the elite. Obama is of the people," she said.

I had no idea there were that many stupid people in the world.

"... strings lots of sentences together into paragraphs..."

geez, if -that's- all that's needed, I nominate my fourth-grade teacher. Or, for that matter, a fourth-grade student.

.

Look, it's exciting to not have yet another old white guy up there but other than his saying he's for change and being half African I still don't understand why people think he's for the little guy.

Raise taxes so he can give our money to someone else? Check.

Help people who took out huge home loans then went bust? Check.

Over extent the federal government and create more poor people through even more taxes? Check.

Look, it's exciting to not have yet another old white guy up there but other than his saying he's for change and being half African I still don't understand why people think he's for the little guy.

Because he's half black.

And to liberals, "blackness" is a social construct, not a genetic one. (Remember Bill Clinton, the "first black president?") So it's automatically assumed by the liberal media that a black President must necessarily be for the oppressed of the world (not just America). After all, it's unimaginable to them that he could put his country or the economy or anything else ahead of his race.

If BO wins, they get to write how the messiah has led America to transcend its sinful racist past.

If BO loses, they get to write that America is still the same old hateful racist place it always has been, and the evil stupid poor white people destroyed America's "last best hope" for racial redemption.

I'm not sure which story the MSM would actually enjoy writing more, but I lean towards the second one.

How many times will you post this picture of Obama?

I spend a good deal of time reading political blogs and I've only seen that picture posted here. Twice, and on the front page, no less.

So you hate him for his talk of banning guns, his naive foreign policy, his health care plan - pretty much every substantive policy I can think of. That's fine, but this odd focus on Obama ejaculating roses is just a bit... odd.

I mean, it's not like we drew the darn thing. :)

The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!

Just like the hoping-to-be-the-future-Mrs.-Chris-Matthews-Obama, I too get the giggles every time I see this picture....

Just for completely opposite reasons :)

I don't think the humor in it will be lost for a looooong time. Especially now that he's the presumptive Soci^H^H^H^H Democratic nominee.

If you have an issue with it, go to the Obama supporters and ask them to quit creating such things.

Socialism doesn't work. It looks nice on paper, but it's been tried and it's failed miserably every time (usually accompanied by widespread death and suffering).
Proud member of the V.R.W.C.

be thankful you haven't seen that one

I laughed so hard when I read your post that I disrupted the meeting I'm sitting in... :-)

Oh God that's disgusting.

"If we ever forget that we are One Nation under God, then we will be a Nation gone under." - Ronald Reagan

" Obama, however, has made himself unpopular in Pakistan by saying the United States should act alone on information about terrorist targets within the country's national borders, leading some to believe he will not be any different from Bush."

Not any different from Bush? Dem's must love that!

"Government of the people, by the people, for the people."
A. Lincoln

prof made the comment about how Obama can string sentences together into paragraphs, then you haven't been paying attention for the last 8 years. And/or you don't like British humo(u)r.

And the prof got the memo forbidding the use of the word "articulate".

A unicorn?

We're in danger if he has the support of the powerful unicorn lobby.

"If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism." - Ronald Regan

Into what? Methinks Euro style Socialism(never mind that those Socio Economic political models are failing).

If Americans are stupid enough to vote for this guy then they deserve what they get.

but the old Soviet system was really one of, by and for the bureaucracy. That's perfectly conceivable under an Obama administration.

we know what Dem surrogates will settle on calling McCain now.

They're going to start jabbing their fingers in McCain's direction, then jabbing at a picture of him posing with Trent Lott, and shouting "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACIIIIIST!!!!" at the top of their lungs.

Heck, Obama's campaign is already doin' it by using code words like "fearmongering" and "divisive."

"If we ever forget that we are One Nation under God, then we will be a Nation gone under." - Ronald Reagan

They've already settled on calling McCain "McBush."

In the talking-points coming out of the Obama camp, they're always denouncing the "Bush-McCain" policy on this or that.

By constantly linking McCain to Bush, they hope that Bush's unpopularity will rub off on McCain.

A poll taken by Gallup a month ago, suggested that Bush is as much of a drag on McCain as Reverend Wright is on Obama. In each case, some 37% of respondents said that the candidate's association with that guy (Wright for Obama, Bush for McCain), makes it less likely they will vote for that candidate.

because Americans are slowly realizing things are turning around in Iraq.

Kind of hard to "stay on message" when the message expires every few weeks.

you've got to be kidding me.

I'll take that action any day of the week.

One of the two, for whatever faults and shortcomings he has had, clearly loves America, believes it is a wonderful and amazing place, and has done everything in his power to keep us safe.

The other thinks American is more or less on par with Nazi Germany and we deserve every terrorist attack we get hit with.

You tell me, when push comes to shove, who do you think 51%+ of the American public will side with?

I have heard "McSame" and what I like, the subtle "John W McCain." Gives you a moment of 'wait, is his middle initial really W? (his middle name is Sidney)

Or combine them for John W McSame. But that is a little much.

Baremiah "H" Wrezkobama it is.

that is a mouthful. Do you expect people to remember all that? Keating Five was before my time, but I am sure that could be put in there also, like John W Mcdidyouknowhewasinkeatingfive.

Anyway, as to the diary, which I didn't actually read the first time, I suppose I am one of the "lefties" to which you refer (even though I am right-handed); I don't know about Revelations because I am Jewish, not for some other reason. Though if you quoted a random verse from the Tanakh I wouldn't likely be able to give you a book/verse, though I doubt most "righties" could either.
