Another reason to help Eric Egland

Here is another reason to give Eric Egland money:

The Justice Department has subpoenaed 11 years of legislative records from Rep. John Doolittle (R-Calif.) as part of its Jack Abramoff bribery investigation, potentially sparking the second fight in as many years between lawmakers and the executive branch over the meaning of the Constitution’s Speech or Debate Clause.

We've moved beyond the FBI to the Department of Justice, folks.

The Kentucky GOP should be SHOT for renominating Ernie Fletcher for governor over Ann Northup. I'm so pi**ed off at the Kentucky GOP.

You are 100% right on the KY GOP. How they could not have foreseen the drubbing Fletcher is going to take by the Democrat is beyond me. The worst part about it is that another GOPer, especially Northrup, would actually have been favored to hold onto the governorship. KY is a very conservative state, and the Dems are looking increasingly left wing these days.

BTW, I know there is at least one other candidate running in CA 4. Is anyone else worried that this candidate, and others that might jump in, might actually guarantee a primary victory for Doolittle? If so, the Dem wins.

In our main editorial today (which Redstate and Egland helped inspire, in part), we point out that Egland is just the first of many...

For the left, the Iraq war nightmare is still yet to come.
