BREAKING: Johnson Steps Down from Obama VP Committee

Another Scalp for the Online Right

Jim Johnson is stepping down from Barack Obama's VP Search Committee.

WASHINGTON (AP) - A leader of Democrat Barack Obama's vice presidential research team has resigned amid criticism over his personal loan deals.

Obama announced in a statement Wednesday that Jim Johnson was stepping aside to avoid distracting from the vetting process.

Johnson served on the vetting team with former first daughter Caroline Kennedy and former Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder.

I'm beginning to like Barack Obama. He's so wonderfully predictable. Each time there's a blowup - a friend of his who highlights the hypocrisy of his HopeChange message, a connection to the corruption of Chicago politics, an adviser or spiritual mentor saying offensively wacky things - Obama responds with the same round of obfuscations:

1. Obama denies there is a problem.

2. Obama insists he was misunderstood.

3. Obama ignores the problem.

4. Obama caves.

This is awesome.

Unless there is a crack unit of computer tech geeks sitting beneath RedState headquarters busily compiling all of these youtube clips into a devastating ad campaign..

no one in America will ever hear about these flips and flops which have been coming fast and furious for the last month..

please tell me someone is cataloguing this and will know how to make up a 1 minute ad..

"Small town folks get bitter after which they cling to guns or religion, or antipathy to people who aren't like them, or anti-immigrant sentiment"- Barack Carter Obama

If I can find all his footage, shouldn't be too hard, I'm going to try and put together ads once I finish my current project towards the end of June. I'm a video editor by trade so I'll be able to churn out a ton of 1 minute clips over the next few months.

Voting for the Sexy(Pres) - Sexy(VP) Dream Ticket

we need the Pennsylvania quote (below)

throwing his grandma under the bus
throwing wright under the bus
throwing samantha power under the bus
throwing jim johnson under the bus

saying jerusalem will always be israeli and then 24 hours later after hamas whined about it Obama says it is up for negotiation

voting against declaring Iranian revolutionary guard corps a "terrorist entity" and then at AIPAC last week claiming it was

saying he would negotiate with Iran without preconditions and then Axelrod claims he never said that, now he wants "preparations" before any meeting.

I am sure there are other examples..

I bet he's now thinking it can't be good if he got off to a bad start.

And let's face it, the VP selection isn't exactly the most task a presidential candidate is faced with. And already Obama is fumbling the ball. Wonderful.

All of a sudden, Obama finds himself trying to shut the closet full of skeletons and it can't be done, because there's too many of skeletons falling out! Hehe.

Let's hope McCain is smart enough to take initiative away from Obama and pound the message home: Obama can't make sound judgments at all.

Daniel 2:20 And he [God] changeth the times and seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.

I wanted to get involved in the blogs, but not really familiar with this.. Anyway I am a former Hillary supporter and I am so sick with the Democratic Party right now. I want to support McCain but want to make sure my support is not in any way helping Obama.. anyway I hope to find some guideance. :) I just came across this story and wanted to share it with you..

don't worry- nothing on this site will ever HELP Obama other than the advice that he should drop out for the benefit of the country. I actually would have felt better if Clinton had won the Presidency than Obama who is completely clueless about America's role in the world.

Anyway, feel free to discuss issues you think could help defeat the Empty Messiah, and you should join those websites of former Clinton/now McCain supporters..

"Small town folks get bitter after which they cling to guns or religion, or antipathy to people who aren't like them, or anti-immigrant sentiment"- Barack Carter Obama

UPDATE: McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds emails:

Jim Johnson's resignation raises serious questions about Barack Obama's judgment. Selecting the vice presidential nominee is the most important decision a presidential candidate can make and one even Barack Obama has said will 'signal how I want to operate my presidency.' By entrusting this process to a man who has now been forced to step down because of questionable loans, the American people have reason to question the judgment of a candidate who has shown he will only make the right call when under pressure from the news media. America can't afford a president who flip-flops on key questions in the course of 24 hours. That's not change we can believe in.

If McCain pounds the message home, he will be reminded of his own senior staffers who were forced to resign. He may also be reminded about the endorsments that he sought out and then had to give up.

The more he pounds the message home, the more foolish he will appear.

Obama put three people on his VP search team and decided to include one of the few people who have actually done it before. This is a non-issue. What was this guy's name again?

Time to hose off the undercarriage again.

Man his bus seems to be just for running down his own people.

Did we at least get a "That's not the Jim Johnson I knew"

reason he didn't throw him under the bus earlier was because they were waiting for the arrival of a new fleet.

Jim Johnson was the guy most likely to pick a Walter Mondale as VP. ("But he has the most experience! He's a beltway kinda guy! He'd be like Cheney was for Bush!")

The chances of Obama picking a Mondale as VP went down just a hair with Johnson leaving.

Obviously, I'm an Obama supporter despite being a life long Republican.

Given the first half of this sentence, I disbelieve the last half of this sentence.

Yes, Obama may eventually die a death from a thousand cuts. However, he seems to have a knack for quickly addressing these issues and putting them behind him. Let's hope that the quantity of gaffs outpaces his ability to deal with them.

it was pretty quick. Also, I think he learned from that experience. He and his campaign suffered because he didn't cut his ties nearly fast enough.

Of course, if there is a new bonehead move every day or week, he won't be able to do anything to shake that off fast enough.

addressed the issue of Wright, and how he kept his "skinny arse" in that seat for 20 years.... :)

Not only is BHO showing himself to be clueless, but his team is looking like a team of twits.

Excellent post. I would add step
5. Obama throws 'em under the bus.

This goes back to at least his curbside toss of his own flesh and blood grandmother, that "typical white woman." Barry's track-record of elitism/SnOBama-ism runs parallel with his sound lack of judgement.

Change and change for the sake of change are two seperate things. Obama'08 -- CHUMP CHANGE We Don't Believe In

That's no small feat for a successful politician.

Howard Dean and company blame it on GOP racism.

Obama's guiding principle: "I reserve the right to revise and extend my remarks."

I believe the Dems have pre-recorded soundbites. This certainly is one, along with "...isn't the man I thought I knew."

Incidentally, I don't think Obama and Dean coordinate very well. The chair was on the tube this morning and showed Johnson a lot of love.

Here is a video of BHO hitting some talking points re: this whole thing.

"Back in the thirties we were told we must collectivize the nation because the people were so poor. Now we are told we must collectivize the nation because the people are so rich." ~ William F. Buckley, Jr.

I had noticed this pattern on Sen. Obama's part. However, you put the pattern into words beautifully!

Obama needs unemployment to go up.

After all, every Marxist needs to create enemies of the state. It's good for reinforcing the message and getting the drones to believe the propaganda.

[Hi, eddiebeaumont@yahoo.co.uk . - Moe Lane]

What a devastating blow. Have the lambs stopped screaming yet Ben?

All kidding aside, one would think that the party that just recently nominated John "Weather Vane" McCain and has haltingly learned to embrace him would be reluctant to play the flip-flop card.

On the other hand, JM might even eventually flip on that whole AGW nonsense. That would be a good thing, right?

The "screaming lamb" comment made me cry and I can't see. The lady next to me on the ferry typed this and immediately fell overboard. She yelled something about collective Democrat voter intelligence burning her cerebellum before going under.

And in case I'm being overly subtle, let me just say for the record that if I ever catch a little backbiting punk like you in Texas, I'll give you a welcome that you'll need several days of in-patient care to walk away from.

Trust the commie-marx-stupid left to operate by smearage. We like our Ben just fine, thank you very little, and we'll line him up against your entire armada of America-hating liars, idiots, and traitors (i.e., what you might call the main-stream media) any day of the week.

...for 39 minutes 55 seconds. I regret that I must now throw his embarrassing carcass beneath my Obamabus. Give a fond fist bump to Jimbo Johnson, Jeremiah Wright, Reverend Vanilla Ice, Samantha Power, and dearest Grandmama. Don't fret the cramped quarters, ebeaumont, we will soon be getting a bigger bus with roomier undercarriage accomodations.

I do appreciate the thought. The guy has a UK email, so....probably an international plane ride, about 9 seconds, 8 punches, 6 kicks, a couple of elbow strikes, then visit a couple of pubs, pay respects to Churchill at Westminster Abbey, then fly back.

Johnson is gone, thanks to Soren Dayton and Rush.

This throws a small monkey wrench into George Soros's plan to take over the country by electing a puppet named Barack and his (Soros's) hand-picked VP.

Once in office, Soros's man would be only one missing heartbeat away from the Presidency. If I were Obama, I wouldn't let Soros get very close to choosing the VP, and if he did I'd make sure my Secret Service guards were vigilant. Soros is capable of doing many things and making it look like white supremacists were responsible.

Pluto, the Ninth Planet - Forever!

Soros, its Obama, and we all missed a great opportunity, as usual, to cement the leftist anti-capitlist brand on a dem nominee, like reagan did.

Instead, whoopee Johnson is gone. Obama had to fire an unknown via the Liberal hypocrisy template that never won us one vote and won't now.

instead, we should

Maybe I misread the article. I thought it said Soros and Johnson were business partners. That's pretty close. But I also believe that Soros has been the money behind Obama all along.

We do miss a lot of opportunities, of course. There seem to be an excess of targets. 'Twas the same way with Bill Clinton. So many targets, so little work put into defining and attacking each of them, so few people interested on publicizing them, so many people willing to call "piling on" when we did attack.

I'm just beating my drum on lost opportunities when libs show themselves to be libs.

I assume they are all corrupt and don't much care, except as to the President who can hurt us with his actions behind closed doors on foreign policy.

I still disappointed that few bloggers and no MSMers wrote about how Johnson was a senior executive at FNMA during its accounting scandal during Clinton's second term.

et al. What they do care about is the credit industry that Obama smeared. The very industry amd company that produced record black and overall home ownership.

But we gave him a pass on that.

We gave him a pass on calling blacks too stupid to understand ARMs.

No one gives a damn about hypocrisy.

All but Jesus was a hypocrite and dems stand for so little its hard for them to be hypocritical.
