Breaking: Senator Obama OPPOSES the re-institution of the Fairness Doctrine?

Keeping it gone must be polling well.

Allahpundit is, of course, cynical about this:

Obama Does Not Support Return of Fairness Doctrine

There may be some Democrats talking about reimposing the fairness doctrine, but one very important one does not: presumptive presidential nominee Barack Obama.

[snip]

"Senator Obama does not support re-imposing the Fairness Doctrine on broadcasters," said press secretary Michael Ortiz in an e-mail to B&C late Wednesday.

...probably on the grounds that while it's a clear statement, so was Obama's previous position on public financing. Me, I don't know. There is an upper limit to how many roads a man can walk down before you call him a two-faced hypocrite, and the junior Senator from Illinois has been walking those roads for a while now. Probably not best to kick that particular anthill, you know? - Especially since the ants have bank accounts, not to mention voting privileges. Still, if you're still somehow a starry-eyed progressive Obama supporter I suppose that it must be one hell of a thing to have to hope that he's just being a shameless, bald-faced liar on this particular topic.

Hey, come on. Is it really me that you're mad at?

He will destroy the right wings new noisemaker when elected.*

* I say that in the hope the netroots will say the same to themselves. This way if he does get elected it will make watching him throw them under the bus that much more sweet. I mean it wouldn't be fun if they didn't really really believe he was on their side.

"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it."
-Thomas Paine: The American Crisis, No. 4, 1777

He will not pay a price for it. He will throw out a lame excuse and that will be the end of it.

His cheerleaders in the media couldn't get away with being so partisan towards him if the Fairness Doctrine was enacted, could they (not saying I support the "Fairness" Doctrine)?

Reinstituting the fairness doctrine would turn Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, Ingraham, Beck, and others into martyrs, and it would instantly mobilize the 30-40 million conservatives who listen to talk radio regularly.

Then again, the left has done a lot of stupid things in the past....

“.....women and minorities hardest hit”

Let's force it through the House, to the Senate, and let us see him in action.

I heard that Allen West will be giving a speech this Saturday addressing Obama and the use of "race" in politics.

The GO WEST campaign will be videotaping the speech and it should be released sometime next week.
